    Famous people who play D&D.

We can add George R.R. Martin to the confirmed list; I'm too lazy to track it down right now, but I've seen at least one interview with him in which he talks about playing in a superhero campaign that was ths inspiration for the Wild Cards anthology series. IIRC his character was the Great and...

Whisky for my men, beer for my horses!

I've always felt that "The Impossible Dream" should be in the PHB as an example of the Paladin's Code. Might help slow down the neverending torrent of "bad paladin" threads. Hey, aren't we about due for another one of those... :D

Whisky for my men, beer for my horses!

Good call, Grump - I love the Steeleye Span version of Allison Gross. I keep meaning to use her as an NPC but I never quite get around to it.

Whisky for my men, beer for my horses!

My favorite would be "The Witch of the Westmerland", either the Stan Rogers or Archie Fisher version... THE WITCH OF THE WESTMERLAND -Archie Fisher Pale was the wounded Knight who bore the rowan shield Loud and cruel were the raven's cries that feasted on the...

    J. Gregory Keyes, Newton's Cannon

I haven't read any of the sequels, but I really enjoyed Newton's Cannon. Now that I'm reminded of it I'll have to track down the others.

Dragon Magazine & Dungeon Magazine on CD

The Dragon Magazine Archive collection had issues 1-250, and IIRC sold for around 50 bucks. I've seen it for sale online recently, and I'd imagine it pops up on Ebay; it's very much worth buying. As much as I'd like to see a Dungeon archive I think if it was going to happen we'd have seen it...

Suggested cost for Golem Strike / Grave Strike weapons??

I'm currently designing magic items for use in a high-power Epic game (30th level characters), and the rogue type is in need of weapons that will let him sneak attack constructs and undead. Complete Adventurer brings us the Golem Strike and Grave Strike spells, both first level, that allow...

    Shut it down! [Problem Solving]

What about assassinating the wizards in the tower? A 15th level Rogue / Ninja / something similar with a magic item that lets him cast Anti-Magic Field would be able to do terrible things in this situation.

I got Races of the Wild, you got the questions

To tide me over until I can get my copy, can someone post some info on the Whisperknife??

    Charles Ryan on Watermarked PDFs

Actually, prepaid Visa cards are available now that seem like they'd be darn near untraceable if the purchaser uses some sort of maildrop address. Not that PDF pirates are likely to go to that much trouble, but the potential for non-traceable credit card purchases seems to be there.

    Best books for DnD

For me, the biggest influence would be the Black Company series by Glen Cook. Needless to say, I was very happy with the great adaptation Green Ronin did for D20. Others would be the original Conan stories by Robert E. Howard, the Fafhrd and Mouser stories mentioned above, and a huge number of...

    [GenCon] Game Bus?

Someone MUST do this, and videotape it. It would be like the anti-Bang Bus. Or "Gamers Gone Wild. There's a fortune to be made here...

Hell has frozen over..DriveThruRPG selling non-DRM books

If the watermark system is as non-intrusive as it sounds DriveThru is about to gain me as a customer. They have lots of goodies I'd like to own, and this may remove the big thing keeping me away. Goodbye, budget...

What is the cleverest thing you've done to get out of a bad situation?

I was playing my favorite character ever - Tobbin Greencap, a Gnome Druid / Shifter of very high levels (I think he was around 23rd level or so). The party was engaged in a running fight in a cavern / tunnel complex, and Tobbin was scouting ahead in bat form. He encountered a formation of very...

WOTC Delegate Program- No Dungeons and Dragons Allowed

I'm a bit curious about that myself, but I expect it to be addressed in the forthcoming updated handbook. I can promise you, though, that we are allowed and encouraged to run D&D RPG demos.

WOTC Delegate Program- No Dungeons and Dragons Allowed

As someone who actually accepted the position I can tell you that this is incorrect. In fact, we are being specifically encouraged to run D&D RPG demos in February.

let's see... $70 in Target gift cards (cool because I need kitchen stuff); a $50 Best Buy gift card (Star Wars Trilogy DVDs here I come...); half a dozen cookbooks for Italian food and seafood; a very high quality baking pan; a starter and seven booster packs of D&D miniatures; a tin of fancy...
