What are your "must haves" for a virtual tabletop?

That sounds cool. I'm not sure how practical it is, but very cool.

What are your "must haves" for a virtual tabletop?

There are many virtual tabletops that have been around for ages, and some newer upstarts like Roll20 that have quickly become very popular. What is it that these new ones do in such a short period of time that makes them more appealing than the more mature products? What do they need to do to...

Pathfinder 1E Concerned about the Rogue's Trap Spotter Talent

Well, that answer makes me feel stupid, of course that's the best place to start. Any solution I come up with will have to be based on that.

Pathfinder 1E How do you keep spellcasting slaves from casting spells?

I'd advise again using a device that suppresses their magical powers. That opens up a huge can of worms for the rest of your campaign, especially if they the items with them and use them on your villains. Also, if devices of this type are so cheap that they can be used on lowly slaves, it's a...

Pathfinder 1E Concerned about the Rogue's Trap Spotter Talent

In my game, the Rogue has recently got past 6th level and gained the Trap Spotter Talent, which means I need to make a Perception check automatically when he comes within 10ft of a trap. I'm a bit concerned about it and momentarily considered banning it because he never ever has to say again...

The Hobbit - The Desolation of Smaug trailer, recreated entirely in Legos

These days I don't see the point so much in miniatures when you can do so much with Lego.

How Much of D&D is the Rules?

I've always thought that the best bit of D&D was going beyond the rules - the creative freedom to make stuff up on the fly.

    Gamehackery: Why Do You DM?

I DM because I want to play with my friends, and no one else will DM so it's as close as I can get. My goal as DM is to be a "fun factory" - whenever I'm considering adding something or taking it away, I always evaluate it with "Will this increase the fun that we have?"

D&D 3E/3.5 X2 Castle Amber Conversion to 3.5 or Pathfinder?

There was one hanging around a while ago. Has anyone got a conversion for X2 Castle Amber to Pathfinder or 3.5?

Pathfinder 1E X2 Castle Amber Conversion for Pathfinder?

I must admit, I'm not quite good enough to eyeball the conversions, especially with all the new monsters that it introduces. As for "palatable", I'd like to reduce the "save or die without warning" situations. With warning is OK, but out of the blue doesn't make a fun experience.

Pathfinder 1E X2 Castle Amber Conversion for Pathfinder?

I'd like to run X2 Castle Amber for my Pathfinder group. I have borrowed a hard copy from a friend, but there's a lot of work to do to make it palatable in a Pathfinder game. Is there a conversion already out there, or does someone have some tips?

Pathfinder 1E Does magic overcome silver damage reduction?

Thanks, this is exactly the info I was looking for.

Pathfinder 1E Does magic overcome silver damage reduction?

I always thought that if you had a magic weapon, you could damage lycanthropes without any penalties, overcoming their damage reduction. I'm reading the rules now, and I don't see this at all, it seems like a non-silver magic weapon would still have its damage reduced. Which is it?

Pathfinder 1E Looking for a low level drow party

I'd like to put to together a low level drow party to use in my game, but I don't want to have to stat them all individually, as they're going to be PC fodder. Are there any resources out there that might have a group of drow that I could use?

Pathfinder 1E Puzzle needed for opening door

That's very well thought out. Just a couple of thematic changes and I should be able to fit it in. Thanks.

Pathfinder 1E Puzzle needed for opening door

I forgot I had that, I'll look it up. That's pretty difficult at first glance.

Pathfinder 1E Puzzle needed for opening door

Just for my home game. That's a great point.

Pathfinder 1E Puzzle needed for opening door

I really don't see the point of puzzles solved with skill checks. About half of my players like solving puzzles, so I'm just putting in a puzzle to amp up the fun for them.

Pathfinder 1E Puzzle needed for opening door

In an adventure I'm creating, I want to have a door that can only be opened by solving a puzzle, probably something to do with aligning symbols or moving blocks around. Does anyone know of a good place to get such a puzzle, a published adventure, or something else?
