    Improved Unarm Strike and Grapple

You can change the rules as much as you want if the people in your campaign are ok with it. The Improved Grapple feat from OA gives you a free grapple check when you hit with an unarmed attack. We houseruled that it also negates the AoO from the opponent when you use a touch attack to initiate...

    Improved Unarm Strike and Grapple

No it's not ... the AoO is because the attacker has to let down his defense to be able to make the grapple. It doesn't matter if you have Improved Unarmed Strike, are a monk, or doing it with a touch spell on your hands .... the initial touch attack always provokes an AoO (if you are in the...

    Dragons and grapple

The snatch rules don't work that way. He makes a normal attack and gets a free grapple check when he hits. No AoO's here .... unless someone in the party has the same or more reach than the dragon :)

Thx guys, exactly what I ment :)

    Improved Unarm Strike and Grapple

There are two different AoO's in grappling: 1. When you use a touch attack to initiate the grapple, you get an AoO from your enemy, if you don't have a feat that negates this. 2. If you win the grapple check, and move in to maintain the hold, you get AoO's from the enemies you're not grappling.

    Improved Grab, Grapple, Constrict, Snatch

    1. Yes, if the creature with improved grab had 4 attacks from BaB, it could initiate four grapple checks, doing slam and constrict damage with each. Without improved grab it would be 4 unarmed strike and 4 constrict. Constrict is a very dangerous ability. 2. By the rules, a dragon with snatch...

Bracers of Striking part 2 (no flaming please)

IMC it effects one natural weapon, but I also play in campaigns where it effects the whole body, I think that is too much boosting with one spell for the druid / monk / two-handed "unarmed" fighter.

Bracers of Striking part 2 (no flaming please)

Pricing the bracers as a double weapon is logical because they enhance two hands/claws.

Bracers of Striking part 2 (no flaming please)

The bracers give the bonussen only to your hands/claws, not your feet/knees/head, etc.

Bracers of Striking part 2 (no flaming please)

We don't require two castings, since you only need one for a double weapon.

    Improved Grab, Grapple, Constrict, Snatch

--------------------------------------------------------------------- IMPROVED GRAB: Imagine this creature for my example : Medium-size, Str 10, BAB +8, 1 Slam +8 melee (1d6), Improved Grab (Slam), Constrict 1d8 The creature hits with its slam attack, causes damage (1d6) and attempts the...

Bracers of Striking part 2 (no flaming please)

The bracers are far less usefull for monks, who use their whole bodies, but much more usefull for other classes, who also want to fight "unarmed".

Bracers of Striking part 2 (no flaming please)

This weekend my player got his bracers. We decided to rule the following: - the bracers can only be enhaced with 'magic weapon special abilities', not with actual plusses, the amulet of mighty fists is needed for that - the bracers therefore do not need a +1 to be able to gain other magical...

Best level to fight the Tarrasque

If they were in a cave system ... how could the party ever get high enough to stay away from the tarrasque ? A jump with speed 150 once a minute should be able to snatch everything ... and just banging your head against the wall to collapse the caves would work just fine for the tarrasque.

    Grappling questions

Quick answer ... yes Not so quit answer ... no ;) With this I mean that you don't need to make a grapple check. You could just hit your enemy with your fist, and do unarmed damage. Even if you don't have "Improved Unarmed Strike" he doesn't get an AoO because he doesn't threaten any areas...

Bracers of Striking & weapon adjustment spells

As I said ... we consider the bracers to give all enhancements to the extremities. Since my hands are claws ("claws of the vampire" or "claws of the bear"), I chose the "keen" enhancement. "Impact" would have no sense for me ;)

Bracers of Striking & weapon adjustment spells

The DM I'm playing with was lenient and we decided that the bracers were ment to give your natural weapons special magical abilities. So any ability given or cast on the bracers effects how you fight with your fists/claws. So now I will probably get my Keen Ghost Touch Bracers of Striking +2 :)
