So? Point being? You don't even need the FRCS then if you have the old material. That theory of WOTC's doesn't exist any more. Hells even Serpent Kingdom's makes references to the other non core books. I don't buy that theory and it might have once existed, true, but it doesn't any more. And...

This might have been true but it isn't any longer. The Player's Guide makes A LOT of references to books that are not core like the BOVD or the Expanded Psionic Handbook and says "see these books for stat's, etc." WOTC might have assumed, for FR, that you just need those four books, but that...

Guess I'm going to be the odd one then and say I prefer the 1e and 2e material over the 3e material. As many have said about 3e, even for FR, it's just missing that "something" that existed in the old material. Well Silver Marches and Serpent Kingdoms and parts of the FRCS have that "something"...

I noticed you posted in the White Wolf thread, after I was given that link. Aye, I was/am bummed if this is true because I to use those modules and sourcebooks for ideas and change them to suit my games. It would be a shame if the setting was canceled. :(

There was a old Shining South sourcebook that was used to base this one on. Also Elaine's Haluraa novels were probably used as well and Mr. Reid has said he used her web article as well.

I don't have much to add here, but maybe you can get some ideas from AEG's Mercenaries book. It is a nice thick tome about, well, Mercenaries. :)

It's a whole different setting, just like his nonFR novels, that are published by TOR, is also a whole different setting, which is different then FR and Castlemorn. :) As far as Ed has said, yes he and his original group(s) still play in his version of FR, when they get a chance to.

The Waterdeep sourcebook is set for next year. About the same time as Ed's and Elaine's Waterdeep novel. Richard Baker has said that, that sourcebook is scheduled for next year.

He was a lesser deity in FR, until the Player's Guide changed him back to just a demon prince. No deities exist in FR's Abyss, so Orcus is not a lesser deity. He was such in Faiths & Pantheons though.
