    Wuxia

This would be cool, especially if you made it sectional - part A is anime, part B is wuxia. I'd love it if there was lots of info for combining the unique aspects of anime and wuxia together (because you know that's how most would play it), and if there was info on replicating the feel of the...

    Let's Talk Blue Rose

First, you're seriously mischaracterizing the romantic fantasy audience, in the same way that those who say gamers are "fat virgin losers with dreams of grandeur" mischaracterize the D&D audience. Second, you're way off base with Buffy. It's a close cousin to romantic fantasy, through and...

    sniff sniff...Do I smell 2nd edition mistakes?

Highly focused class abilities, and heavy attribute requirements. Goblinkiller, Drowbasher and Giantkiller can be used only once per day - it's a nice ability, but heavily restricted (and it occupies three progression slots). This limits versatility in 2 ways. First, it's restricted to only...

    Wuxia

Hmm... from a player/GM perspective, I think I'd like to see #2 the most - though I confess I'd rather see a stand alone supplement for d20 Modern, as I think the class structure in that system is more suited for the broad spectrum of martial arts goodness. That said, from a business...

    Let's Talk Blue Rose

And, conversely, I consider it a crying pity that gamers are proving so dismissive and close-minded of a setting that doesn't pander to the tropes of what they consider "standard" fantasy. There are already dozens, if not hundreds of games and settings that fit the "social interactions + orc...

Would you & your group roleplay on camera?

Ok. But I can't promise I won't lick the screen. And sure, I'd do it. Why not? Well, so long as it was well edited - I won't be responsible for inflicting hours of numbing, badly-shot tedium on the world at large. I'll leave that for the Sci-Fi Channel. Patrick Y.

    Let's Talk Blue Rose

It attempts to fulfill the interests and desires of an audience most rpg games don't bother to acknowledge, and adopts the conceits of a popular genre of fantasy that most games and gamers like to pretend doesn't exist. Which, if you haven't guessed by now, I consider to be a great feature of...

It's a deck of Tarot cards, man - the major arcana, and then the suits. You can get them in pretty much any bookstore, and I think there are virtual tarot decks online, too.

    sniff sniff...Do I smell 2nd edition mistakes?

I can try and play a thief or bard. Or, alternately, I can try and play a single class fighter in a party with a multi-class elven fighter mage. It's FUN being 10th level in one class when your buddy is 9th level in two, and it only gets MORE FUN as you gain more levels.

What's this about a plagiarized map in Conan: City of Shadizar?

Who are you to deny the sensual feel of faux leatherish covers? And faux gold leaf lettering? Damn man, the lettering!!!

Gonna play a scout. I can hear the other players whining already...

This is more an aspect of people limiting the horizons of the Rogue class, than the scout eclipsing it. "The other stuff is for bards" is an issue of taste and play preference, not a mechanical truth in any sense. And as for contributing in combat, by the time the Scout gets all his bonus...

Gonna play a scout. I can hear the other players whining already...

So? The Scout still can't "out rogue" the Rogue class. d8 hit dice don't pick locks, a bonus to AC doesn't intimidate a giant, a good Fort save won't help you disguise yourself as a cultist, and bonus fighter feats don't help you shoot lightning bolts out of a wand. A rogue in a party with...

Gonna play a scout. I can hear the other players whining already...

Eh. Less extra damage, no improved uncanny dodge, and a narrower selection of skills. The Rogue still has a place - unless Appraise, Bluff, Diplomacy, Decipher Script, Disable Device, Disguise, Forgery, Gather Information, Intimidation, Open Lock, Perform, Profession, Sleight of Hand, and Use...

That article never fails to make me laugh. I love it. And I like half the stuff on that list. "through some kind of groin miracle." "“I hate my parents and my classmates beat me.” To make this slightly more vampiric you may want to add the word “Blah!” at the beginning and end of the...

OK so level adjustment +2 or more is really a bad deal!

That's why I like themed replacement abilities. I've built, for my own games (well, mostly for my own amusement), some level advancements geared towards each character class that replace class abilities with thematic abilities appropriate to the template's concept. It's worked well in my games.

Call of Cthulhu d20 Preservation Society

You should do it. But instead of just Lovecraft, you should do a series of "Horror in the style of X" pdfs, where X is a recognizable style of horror. Italian Zombie Apocalypse/gore type films Hell, Italian psycho-horror would be a good one. Dario Argento is worth a series on his own...
