New Gothic D&D Storyline To Be Announced On Monday

Nah, I have the Tarokka deck - used it 'bout a year ago in fact - and that's not the same art style. But still pretty Mists-like. /crosses fingers /to repel Strahd

    D&D 5E Hobgoblin Leaders

I just assumed, from the power level, that the Hobgoblin Warlord was Attila the Hun or Genghis Khan. /too lazy to look up correct spelling

D&D 5E Refusing To Heal Party Members?

Honestly, what D&D player hasn't thought at some point about playing an evil cleric and extorting the party for heals?

D&D 5E Refusing To Heal Party Members?

How about this: Players have a responsibility to contribute their class abilities toward the success of the group, not just the individuals. However, players do not have a responsibility to allow other players to demand they use those abilities in the way the other player wishes.

D&D 5E Tomb Raiders : building an encounter

Which is why, worst comes to worst, you have to make that Lair action on Init 20 really count. Whatever the party's go-to for "alpha strike" is - do your best to hinder that for one round.

D&D 5E Who wrote these CRs?

I don't think we can wait for WotC to get on that. We're going to need one of ENWorld's spreadsheet masters to rules-fu this problem into unconsciousness.

    D&D 5E Is stoneskin underpowered?

On this note, has anyone done a guide, or even had an extended discussion, on what spells are particularly effective in the hands of NPC opponents? I'd be interested in reading that.

D&D 5E XP vs Story Line Progression Leveling model in 5th edition

While my inclination is to agree with you, I noticed in the 2nd level pre-adventure for PotA that the module is convinced that the three fights in the mini-dungeon are enough to get a party of four to 3rd level (600 xp each) which would only be possible if the multiplier was applied to the...

D&D 5E Heat Metal Rules Interp / Minor Nerf

It does sound like heat metal is more powerful in the hands of NPCs than PCs. However - didn't WotC build these monsters, and determine their CRs, by what their damage output was? It seems that a wizard with fireball is a different CR than a wizard of the same level with dispel magic. So...

Does Medium Armor Need a Buff?

I don't mind medium armor as far as AC, but I feel like it needs more of a reason to exist than it currently has.

D&D Rage of Demons - Designers Explain Villains

Not that I object to this portrayal - but if Demon Lords are now known for instilling madness - why exactly do we have the Far Realms again?

Mike Mearls on D&D Psionics: Should Psionic Flavor Be Altered?

If Psi worked like Ki, you'd want a "caster-like" class that works like monks do - here's the things you can do all the time, and here's the things you can do by expending one or more points from your Psi pool. The trick would be making them not feel like warlock clones.

Mike Mearls on D&D Psionics: Should Psionic Flavor Be Altered?

I'm starting to wonder if we don't need to redefine Psionics as much as we need to redefine the Far Realm. Which might be oxymoronic, now that I think of it.

D&D 5E Missions and Moral Compass

If you're a LG paladin and someone approaches you with a shady job - don't you now know about a potential crime against law and goodness that you should be thwarting? Would it be worth playing along just to find the other players and bring them to justice?

D&D 5E In your opinion, what is the most underrated spell in the PHB and why?

Why would an adventurer need to steal bread? You're not Jean Valjean, you can spare a few coppers.

    D&D 5E Polymorph Shenanigans

This was my use: The PCs (about 5th-6th level) are supposed to climb a cliff face to get flowers from a ledge. One PC ascends with slippers of spider climbing. He runs into the invisible faerie dragons, who hit him with polymorph. One failed save later, and he was a baby hippo. Without the...

Thanks - this is the kind of feedback I was hoping for.

D&D 5E Princes of the Apocalypse as source material

I liked the looks of PotA as an adventure, and I'd probably buy it IF I were going to run it. But I'm not, at least right now. And since these APs are supposed to be game support as well as campaigns ... Would you (or have you already) purchase Princes of the Apocalypse if you have no...
