(IC) Against the Giants PBP Group 1

Tenibor heads about 15 feet south--though he tries to otherwise stay out of the way. He is not worried about the current combat and does not attack. He is worried about the current combat getting much harder, and will keep his eyes and ears very open for any sound of encroaching giants...

    D&D 5E (2024) Developer Video on Druid/Paladin/Expert Feedback

So, the more spelled ranger, most improved class!

    PALADINS!

Oh no, the biggest upset, only the second time a 16 seed beat a 1 seed, involves KNIGHTS. Almost a pattern. As for FDU beating the Purdue Boilermakers, just yet more evidence that artificers suck.

ToV Black Flag Playtest 2: Magic, Luck, Fighter, Wizards!

And they have split out feats and ASI. At 4th, 6th, and 8th level the fighter gets a +1 to an ability score and a talent.

ToV Black Flag Playtest 2: Magic, Luck, Fighter, Wizards!

Just started reading and can already tell that a lot is here. But Last Stand feels so 4e. Which is not necessarily a bad thing.

    PALADINS!

The big upset of the day involved an all feline battle between one of the all time great overachievers against one of the most consistent underachievers in tournament history. They finally put Princeton and Arizona together, and of course Arizona lost (and it was tigers vs wildcats---not much...

    PALADINS!

On Thursday, in a huge, come from behind victory Furman (no, you have never heard of it) and specifically the Furman PALADINS, beat the far more prestigious University of Virginia. Virginia? You mean the Virginia CAVALIERS. Yes, thats right, the Paladins finally had a chance to show the...

    D&D 5E (2024) A simpler game is a better game...for us

I would iike simpler, but I see no evidence, at all, of that from 1 D&D. It simplifies a little there, but complicates over here. Making feats core and having more of them, for example, is certainly not a simplification or newb friendly. It could be good or bad for most players (really depends...

D&D General Why was 3.5 needed?

To sell core books and pre-painted plastic miniatures.

    All Marvel TV Shows, Ranked

Legion is on the list(?!) Because it was really in a class by itself. Like Legion and all those other...shows.... (I guess that pic is a clue to being a fan).

    D&D 5E (2024) Will Pact Magic survive?

In terms of designer intent, the cleric has been made more like the warlock. And warlock is certainly a popular class. I am guessing pact magic will survive, fortunately.

    D&D 5E (2024) (+) Hopes for The Monk

I don't agree with everything in the OP, but the monk definitely needs help! Based on what we have seen so far, not sure they are going to get it.

So I wonder what will be revised. It will be complete revision...but what does it mean?

Against the Giants 5e PBP (Full)

3 or 4. There is also the issue that we keep fighting giants and their minions. Shocking, I know. But that has made it feel more repetitive which the slowness makes worse, as we are not moving on to other things.

ToV So What's In Kobold Press' BLACK FLAG First Playtest?

Mid-March for the next play-test packet means in about a week. And I am looking forward to it! As for a May kickstarter, it would be good to do a really good with this through April to ensure interest in that kickstarter. But no pressure of course.

(IC) Against the Giants PBP Group 1

Tenibor thanks them for there answer. "I will need to see it for myself. But I suspect it is better to leave it cut off from the world, as it was before." He will advance with the group through that hole. He will follow up on the location of the shrine. When the time comes, he may split off.

    Is Resource Management “Fun?”

If you mean spells and magic items, like potions and scrolls, yes. If you mean torches and rations, maybe, maybe not. There were rules for these things (as I think there still are) but a lot of groups hand waved it. Also, with standard treasure rewards--which were needed to get XP to get out...

(IC) Against the Giants PBP Group 1

Tenibor tries first giant, then common if that doesn't work, with the prisoners. He confirms that after going south through the hole in this room, then turning west, one will come to a shrine of terror. "You found this shrine by tunneling? Could those tunnels be collapsed?"

D&D General What I Would Want From One D&D/6E

The math is a problem. I think it has to do with bounded accuracy. So the way opponents get tougher is through HP and dmg. Then, on top of this, the implementation of the math, especially in MM1 and in encounter building advice, also leaves a lot to be desired. But once you start to make any...
