    D&D 5E (2014) Why does 5E SUCK?

Stablilize two comrades out of combat? :p It is unquestionably good in combat - I am struggling to see it being very good out. Mind you I think cunning action is fantastic & my favourite bit of 5e design, elegantly capturing tumble, sneakiness & nimbleness & it's a great reason to play a rogue...

    D&D 5E (2014) Critical Failures & House Rules

    D&D 5E (2014) Why does 5E SUCK?

You would think so but I can't think of anything that you are likely to want to do that a thief could not do EVERY round. I am, open to suggestions as there is obviously a failure of my imagination.

    D&D 5E (2014) Why does 5E SUCK?

Action surge is dwarfed in utility by cunning action, especially for thieves :)

    D&D 5E (2014) Current take on GWM/SS

Huh why include attack bonuses <+2? (& that is marginal). You also ignore the damage bonus for the ability score which correlates very strongly with the attack bonus. Really there are only a handful of interesting cases. (& close relatives of these) 1) a level Woodelf 4 Ranger with 16 dex...

    D&D 5E (2014) Why does 5E SUCK?

This was from the WotC survey results: http://dnd.wizards.com/articles/news/april-survey-results It matches my experience though in 4e we got to low teens a few times & 5e progresses at that sort of pace. Even so due to the prevalence of starting at level 1 the low levels (3-10?) are...

    A New DRAGON+?

I keep seeing references to D+ and processing it as the rating it has got. I might go to C- myself

D&D 5E (2014) Can a Reach Weapon stop someone attacking you?

It's often the reverse actually as they rarely leave your engagement range.

    D&D 5E (2014) Classes Rated By Tier

You are pretty much doing that now. The OP is playing his game of fitting classes into tiers & you are telling him it is a waste of time. I don't really have a handle on class power levels except that they are pretty close at the low levels I have played at. I also think OP seriously miss...

    D&D 5E (2014) DM: overwhelmed with creatures

In my live 4e games the players track damage inflicted either by writing on the play mat or using tracker dice. In g+ game 5e game I tend to write it on scrap paper. I lose track all the time but it doesn't seem to matter much for mooks. Bosses get more attention.

    D&D 5E (2014) So...Multiattack

I feel people are talking across each other a bit here as those who read the rules (RAW) as not allowing free substitution, like me, are happy to ignore it or use the MM rule mentioned above. The Azure dragon it's identical to the blue dragon except it is explicitly allowed to swap grabs &...

D&D 5E (2014) What aspects of play do you most enjoy?

I am not sure what exploration really means but I think it must be something I dislike while I like interaction & combat, i lose interest in mapping or tracking rations pretty fast. I also tend to run a lot of games with something that is neither but does not readily fit with exploration. For...

    D&D 5E (2014) So...Multiattack

Like I tried to say "replaces one of them" rather than "replaces all of them" is why it's there.

    D&D 5E (2014) So...Multiattack

I read this differently -IMO that statement is there to state that if you have multiple attacks you only need to give up one of them to grapple not all of them. ie it is is to point out you only need one attack for a grapple/shove not your whole action rather than limiting it to one use per...

    D&D 5E (2014) Scaling the number of off-hand attacks?

I do not believe your manner is appropriate to the ENworld forums. You are a new poster it is true so I refrained from reporting you (for previous offences) but you will need to tone down the attacks & aggressive tone if you want to stay here. I am mechanics focused as this was a question...

D&D 5E (2014) House Rules That Make The Game Better

I don't use house rules that make the game better only those that make it worse. I don't like to house rule at all - there are always unintended consequences & most of the time I revert to the original rules. (edit: there are probably loads of little things I do that are so ingrained I forget...

D&D 5E (2014) (CR ratings) Could 6 level 6 characters survive and beat a Young Blue Dragon?

The CR does double duty as it comes with an XP value for setting encounter budgets & it has a threat level that indicates how likely it is to kill threaten to kill PCs more or less by chance. So your single dragon encounters would most likely be readily overcome by the PCs but there is a risk...

    D&D 5E (2014) Scaling the number of off-hand attacks?

And then :confused: Noob :p ;) As I do not want to threadcrap I would just point out that there are any number of ways that people like to play roleplaying games & ENworld has a strong policy of not allowing people to crap on any of them. Even if it does allow off topic rambles...
