Campaign Maps now on sale from Gale Force Nine

Looks around... Who do we have to beat in order to get a 'classic' Forgotten Realms Map, Greyhawk Map, Known World Map, Rock of Bral Map, or other classic settings?

the tablet war is heating up

Pretty crazy stuff there with HP. I recently bought a Toshiba Thrive. I'm digging it. I am finding it allows me to actually enjoy reading PDF's of electronic books I have and I suspect that future purchases will probably be more carefully weighed in the future where before it was almost always...

D&D 5E (2014) cancelled 5e announcement at Gencon??? Anyone know anything about this?

I've mentioned this before, and it is strickly my opinion, but you cannot take anything they say as truthful because they will change their means and methods to react to the preceived market conditions and sales data they have available. It is not necessarily that they 'mean' to lie, as say...

    Captain America: The First Avenger

I dug it. Saw it with my mother and she dug it. Had a very good flow from scene to scene. The only thing we thought was that it should have been longer. That is a rarity in a movie that I see it and go, "Man, that movie was too short." Looking forward to seeing what they do in the future with...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo Announcement and Prognostication

Ironically, this sounds like they printed too much. When asked about future printings of the Player's Handbook with errata, they said it was not going to happen anytime soon because they had so many PHB's in circulation already.

Do grognards have to be jerks?

New Gale Force Nine Official Dungeons & Dragons Accessories at Gen Con 2011

You just don't know Mark! Man, I felt ambushed by these guys with their awesomeness. Picked up the Convention special, maps, some tools, and one of their little serving sizes of bases. If I wasn't driving and walking so much I'd have bought some of the terrain as well but I figure there's...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo Announcement and Prognostication

I still wish Paizo was supporting 4e. Don't get me wrong, I love what they have with Paizo's AP line and support that but damn if 4e isn't in dire need of some of the specialities that Paizo has under their belt.... here's my original: glad to see I hit the nail on the head on the Tome of...

Holy sheepdip - wotc to republish old editions

For the ebooks I thought they were strictkly talking fiction, not gaming.

Holy sheepdip - wotc to republish old editions

plans != reality I'll save my clapping with one hand trick until I see some actual results. Hell, I'm waiting to see them publish current material as PDF. I suspect it's going to be some crap where you pay X amount to have access to an online vault and depending on what you pay will determine...

    D&D Product Announcements

Doesn't seem to be a lot of book coming out down the line that we didn't already know about. the non-random miniature thing should be interesting to see in action against Paizo's latest efforts. I suspect price on the secondary market may have a huge hand in how that shakes out. The rest of it...

    8/1 Rule of Three Up!

Right about the time they offer their PDF option that has also been coming 'soon'.

    Rule of Three for 7/25

All errata and updates are put into the living update document that we host online. At this point we have no plans of releasing updated Player’s Handbooks or other updated books. I remember not that long ago when WoTC was quoted as saying there were no plans for reprinting the Player's Handbook...

Dice Dojo is a great place. Fantastic board game selection. Good catch there.

the tablet war is heating up

The growth of the android operating system seems to be the sticking point. iPad looks like, to me at least, it will 'always' be #1 individual unit but in terms of O/S that android will continue to catch up and perhaps surpass it although no individual single model will do the same.

    New Content or Better Content?

I would rather see content that expands the game. For example, the introduction of firearms. Early editions of D&D were so open that you could use them to emulate a wide number of genres and games within your own sand box. Later editions of the game focused on D&D being... well, D&D. The...

    Rule of Three 7/18/11

Fiery Dragon, I have to say, if that's WoTC reasoning, and they still don't do PDFs to generate cash, the people running that boat have rammed it into the carcass of the Titanic and are quickly sinking ontop of it. "Is there any way to raise cash revenues?" "I hear about these things like...

    Rule of Three 7/18/11

? Why would they stop huge outlets from selling it in the first place. Because supposedly it cuts into brick and mortar store sales. So what happens when the brick and mortar stores sell it online and do so at a discount? That will cut out the stores that don't. Unless I'm just looking at...

    Rule of Three 7/18/11

Hello Nose. Hello Face. Chop! Take that Nose! But Face... you've been spited! Seriously, store only releases? I cannot imagine that the print run on this isn't going to suffer horribly not just from not being at Amazon, but Buy.Com, Overstock, and other stores. In addition, what is WoTC...
