    [Dec] What are you playing?

Finished NWN2 and Splinter Cell: Double Agent. Playing Eve as usual... A note on SCDA: I was highly expecting it, however in the end, I was disappointed. The game was not developed by Ubisoft's Montreal studio, instead it was outsourced to Shanghai. I am sure there are a lot of fine programmers...

    [Nov] What Are You Playing?

Finished NWN2. Good game overall, but the intermittent railroading got a bit on my nerves. Starting Splinter Cell: Double Agent. I've seen some horrible things about the PC version, so I'll soon seen what the fuss is all about. And Eve Online, always. (Revelations Chapter I, the new free...

+1 Manifester Level Progression When There Ain't

maybe I am missing something here, and I'm not the psionics expert, but wouldn't the +1 manifester per level apply to the Soulknife levels?

    BattleStar Galactica:Season 3.0--10/06/06--Arc 1

I was thinking the same. Although I don't like some of the directions the show is going, it is certainly breaking new grounds in sci-fi: a gritty, sometimes gruesome, experience. Can't help thinking about 24 as the analogy in mainstream TV, which has its share of stomach turners.

    [September] What are you playing?

Was it you that dropped in eventually last night? I was quite distracted, whoring the complex, and then we got engaged by a bunch of BoB-alts so I had some fleet duty (bubble camp). I'm sorry we didn't get a chance to chat. There are other EN Worlders that drop in from time to time, too...

    How did WoW dethrone Everquest?

Incidentally, that's what initially attracted me to Eve. :D I used to play Traveller, I still have the books! (High Guard, Striker boxed set, etc.)

Interesting sites, thanks! Not sure the one I'm looking for is there, though. Hrm. /me scratches head

    How did WoW dethrone Everquest?

I will not deny that the learning curve is steep. But, as much as there are "very bad" people in Eve that "want your stuff", there is also the other kind that will go above and beyond to help newbs out. You see the depths of depravity and the heights of virtue, all mixed up into one. :D I...

    How did WoW dethrone Everquest?

I was going to say something like that, albeit more diplomatically. ;) If you go to the Eve Online forums, a common insult is "go back to WoW". This is simply because Eve Online is probably as far opposed to WoW as you can get in an MMORPG. Andur said it correctly: the death penalty is harsh...

    Campaign Management Website

I'm definitely starting to feel my age: I am probably blind and most definitely am suffering from memory loss. Hopefully my fellow enworlders will be able to help. :p I forgot a URL. Once upon a time, I stumbled across a website that graciously provided a "space" in which you could manage...

    [September] What are you playing?

What's your nick in game again? Mine's Andargor theWise. Join the ENWORLD channel. Currently in Stain with my corp and alliance. Well organized group: manufacturing, defense, mining, POS. Ratting (Sansha's in that area) and there's a 6/10 complex I'm itching to hit. Of course, the occasional...

    Awarding Experience

Thanks for the clarifications on EL. I'll however continue to use this system, since it has served us well in Age of Worms: the party level is spot on with what is indicated. You are probably correct that sometimes the PC deserve more or less if you base yourself on CRs, but using ELs has saved...

    Awarding Experience

Perhaps I use it wrong, but I'd like to know where you find out what EL is intended for? (not being sarcastic, just curious) I look at WotC's site, and I see this, it tells me I use EL correctly, unless there's the 3 level diference in CRs between creatures in the group (in which case, the...

    Character's "type"

I was playing an Elemental Savant (fire), and IIRC, I couldn't enter water either... We had to be creative so I wouldn't have to sit out of underwater adventures. :p

    Awarding Experience

We use EL to award experience, divided by number of players. The reason is that the EL treats the multiple creatures as one and takes into consideration any circumstantial factors (ambush, weakened/strengthened, special items, and so on). Works well so far.

    Character's "type"

And you also get drawbacks, positive energy harms instead of heals, sunlight becomes a problem, you can be hedged out by a magic circle, a slaying arrow might have your name on it, and so on.

    Ritual Epic spells and Eidolon

Yeah, problem with that is the XP cost. So, in essence, you are trying to get around the XP component which is a big no-no.

the new EN World DDO thread

 I would seriously pick up the phone and give someone at Turbine an earful, before telling said person where they can shove their subscription. Such GM behavior is unacceptable.

Welcome to the boards! Thanks for the link. Heromachine has been a staple of many campaigns for a while now. But it doesn't hurt to remind us. :D
