    Paladins in Fiction

Probably not exactly what you are looking for, but the in the Book/Movie Jumper, the jumpers (ie teleporters) are hunted by an order that call themselves Paladins. But they aren't what you would think of as a Paladin, in fact, they are the antagonist in the movie.

    'Terminator' Gets Archived

I always put The Highlander right up there w/ The Terminator. So that would be one of my choices.

Correct me if I'm wrong: Paladin Marks

Also, just to clarify something, when the Fighter makes their attack, they can choose not to mark the target. I play a Pally and my friend a Fighter and we use this to our advantage all the time. I will Divine Challenge an enemy, my Fighter friend will Shield push them away (and choose not to...

Wizard + Dungeon Door = Invincible Wizard?

I don't see the problem here. You said it yourself, that IS what the Wizard is supposed to do. Hang back and lob spells. That being said, some things to consider to mayabe challenge the Wizard a little bit... 1) Are you using Cover correctly? If he is on the other side of the door, he is...

Can someone explain surpires to me?

This is assuming the DM rolls seperately for each orc, rather than just 1 "group" initiative roll.

Mearls on Controller design and At-Will balance

I don't think WotC should have pigeon-holed classes into certain roles. Rather, I think they should have their specific builds fit a role. A Wizard should have the option to be a controller or a striker (imo) based on the build and selection of powers. In fact, I sort of see Wizards more as...

DND 4E Is different! (Why is that bad?)

Actually, there was a reason they renamed it (whether you accept it as a valid reason or not is up to you I guess). Opportunity Attacks are a type of Opportunity Action. I think they renamed it to keep the names more in tune when you read them. An Opportunity Attack is one type of Opportunity...

DND 4E Is different! (Why is that bad?)

Can you expand upon this? What about character roles do you feel are restrictive? Character roles are just a label so that players have some idea what a class can do. So a new player won't come around and pick a Wizard and assume he is like Gandalf and attempt to dual wield a staff and sword...

Mearls on Controller design and At-Will balance

The other thing to consider is if/when Arcane Power splat book comes out, I am sure that will have more controllerish At-Wills in it for the Wizard to pick up. That's the point of splat books after all, more options...

Punisher: War Zone--Best Negative Reviews Evar!

My problem with The Punisher as a comic book character or a movie is that, its nothing special. Its not some new and interesting idea or twist for a character. Its just a guy motivated by revenge, who uses guns to "punish" people. How is the "idea" of the Punisher character any different than...

Teleportation as forced movement: off a cliff?

So then you'd never be able to teleport yourself or someone else onto a pit trap, or an illusion of a solid structure, or liquid.

HBO Greenlights Martin's A Game of Thrones

Look at the bright side. At least we'll know the absolute latest the book will be done by. Each season of this series is supposed to be 1 book. So by the time the (current) last book is done in this TV series, A Dance with Dragons has to be out in order for that season to be filmed. If that...

HBO Greenlights Martin's A Game of Thrones

HBO likes to recycle their actors, so expect to see some people from The Sopranos, Six Feet Under, Deadwood and Rome in this series. Ian McShane? Kevin McKidd?

Defensive Scores - Fort, Ref, Will - how do they work?

That's a bad example, because there is no Bard in 4E yet... Unless you are using a fan-made creation. But still, might not want to confuse the guy. He might look for the Bard class in the PHB and wonder where it is.
