Embracing AI in TTRPGs - Enhancing, Not Replacing, Creativity

You can't copyright AI generated works. I don't understnad the question. You are free to transform any public domain work. For most work under copyright youc an claim fair use if it's transformative enough, but they'll sue you into oblivion so good luck with that. Regardless though, you can't...

Embracing AI in TTRPGs - Enhancing, Not Replacing, Creativity

There are a number of different LLMs built around these concepts right now. The majors aren't one of them of course, but there's a good discussion happening around this that's worth participating in. Also, you can't copyright anything produced with LLMs. Courts have ruled on this already.

No. You've come in telling people they should be afraid. Making blanket statements about ethics and that everyoen has to share that or it's uncool. I get it. You're a mod. You can do what you like. But it doesn't make you right.

Embracing AI in TTRPGs - Enhancing, Not Replacing, Creativity

We've officially departed the "let me google that for you" world and entered the "Let me ask AI that for you" world. I have asked AI for you. The answer is below. I look forward to your artful use of ironic "quotes" in future replies. ___ While there have not been any definitive large-scale...

Oops! Thanks. Fixed. I should have had AI edit the post before I made it. :)

You can sue an ham sandwich in the U.S. I'm not sure this means anything.

The fact that these two statements are made, one right after the other, has made this post absolutly worth it.

For corporations, sure. But ethics left the room well before AI was developed when it comes to corporations. There is still a personal component. How individual fans will use AI, and what benefits we might find in the tools ourselves. I posted this on Reddit, just for the mini-game of replies...

Players Don't Care About Your Setting

The natural state of anyone on anything new is not to care. They don't come into a game because of your world, they come in because of the character they imagine in whatever vague notion of a fantasy world they have. Like any story, they have to have a reason to care and find something...

D&D General Surprise, Initiative and What will you do?

Thier is surprise, it's jsut that the mechanics for it aren't very exciting. As with a lot of things in 5e, they are trapped by their own poor design. 1. There are even more abilities now so turns take even longer, so players that have been surprised under the 2014 and had a low initiative...

D&D General Elephants are cheaper than Warhorses

Another no reason point. Total cost of ownership on an Elephant is MUCH higher than a horse, both in food and property damage. :)

D&D General Elephants are cheaper than Warhorses

D&D economics are silly. This means absolutly nothing but just working on a post about crafting so this is just for a bit of fun. Live animals are worth less than the aggregate total of the meat, or there wouldn't be a livestock industry. To make a ration, the meat would be turned into jerkey...

    Shadowdark Mounted Combat Rules

I've been tinkering with some mounted combat rules for Shadowdark RPG, and I thought I'd share them with you all. I know Shadowdark is all about keeping things simple and flavourful, so I tried to stick to that vibe while adding a bit more depth to horseback adventures. I've put together a blog...

WotC Greg Tito On Leaving WotC: 'It feels good to do something that doesn't just line the pockets of *****'

I think it was directed at them, but it lands on everyone. That's why managers don't do that. You take responsibility for more than yourself. Again, a basic tennant of management. If what you said were remotly true, we wouldn't be having these conversations around this here and everywhere...

WotC Greg Tito On Leaving WotC: 'It feels good to do something that doesn't just line the pockets of *****'

I expect they were that way to him. What's your point? That you're justsified in being inconsiderate toward the people working for you because the people you work for are bad to you?

WotC Greg Tito On Leaving WotC: 'It feels good to do something that doesn't just line the pockets of *****'

It is not. It is a common and basic tennant of management that you don't crap on the company out the door like that because of what it says to the people who worked for you and the people who worked with you. The most fundamental baseline expectation of any manager is that you act with...

WotC Greg Tito On Leaving WotC: 'It feels good to do something that doesn't just line the pockets of *****'

What are you on about? Official communications aren't personal statements. How is it possible you don't understand that and try to claim other people don't understnad his job.

WotC Greg Tito On Leaving WotC: 'It feels good to do something that doesn't just line the pockets of *****'

Context does matter. The context is that Tito didn't say a thing about the OGL scandal or ANY of the behavior of WotC. Any of the scanals, unethical behavior of the company. Nothing. His only statement was that he was upset that someone else was making money off of it, not him. Again...
