D&D 5E (2014) Dragon Age lead says Baldur’s Gate 3 and Clair Obscur prove publishers wrong as games can crush market trends is they’re “given time to cook”

I think @Charlaquin 's point is that subjectivity you mentioned is often retrospective. Like a game is "putting diversity first" until it proves to be a success, and then that diversity suddenly becomes "organic in a way."

Absolutely. According to Steam, I have 83 hours in Skyrim and 95 hours in Dragon Age: Inquisition, but I have 2,988 hours in Stardew Valley and 552 hours in Hollow Knight. What can I say? I love AAA games, but I love indie games more. Way more. Like, orders of magnitude more.

I dunno about polish, they all seemed just as polished as any other AAA game releases of their respective years. (I'm not an expert, though.) I was ranking them by how much fun I had playing them: I thought Inquisition was the most enjoyable game of the franchise.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I have no idea how to compare it to SoF; I just mentioned it because I think it has the funniest name of any RPG. (And TSL is actually playable, and a lot of fun!)

Okay but you had a spelling error. I fixed it for you, you're welcome.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Certain folks here make me wonder if they enjoy RPGs at all. I could go on about gatekeeping and elitism and other problems, but it all boils down to the same thing: our hobby needs better fans. When someone posts something like "Hey guys! I wrote a 4E adventure, and thought I'd share it...

I know right? Some people honestly believe the whole world owes them attention.

D&D General How Long Did You Play Only D&D Before Trying Another Game

A couple of years for me. I first started playing D&D in 6th grade, with the red box rules. It wasn't my agenda or anything, and it's not like I wasn't willing to try other games...it's just that most eleven-year-olds don't have much choice. Especially those of us who lived in small rural...

D&D 5E (2014) Obojima: Tales from the Tall Grass

I just got my copy in the mail yesterday. We're right in the middle of moving, so it immediately got packed into a box with my other RPG materials, but not before I had a chance to flip through it. Folks? This is a beautiful product. Well-made, wonderfully illustrated, full of imagination...

    Today I learned +

The human body is amazing. Like, right now I could do 2/3 of a backflip and just completely wreck myself right here on the sidewalk.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

There's a huge difference between "forgive me father, for I have sinned" and "sorry daddy, I've been naughty." Or "having a dad bod" versus "having a father figure."

Worlds Largest Dungeon Holds 'Secret Doors' Contest

Says you. I think the 5E rules are the best system they've come up with to date. It is robust enough to support multiple genres of fiction from sci-fi to high fantasy, and flexible enough to support multiple playstyles from beer-and-pretzels to deep roleplay. It's not perfect, nothing is, but...

In-person Game cancelled. What do you play?

With video games being specifically excluded? I'd probably read a book.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I have a good-paying job in a nice city, I am married to a hot spouse who treats me good, I have beer on tap in my kitchen, and I play D&D every Friday night with my friends. Thirteen-year old Me is high-fiving me so hard right now.
