    Improving a Dragon's DR

And what houserules, pray tell, have you introduced to make SR harder to overcome? You know, so the mundanes are not the only ones who are presented with arbitrary stuff to make their job harder? Besides, SR is really easy to either ignore (many very good spells allow no SR) or overcome (Assay...

Pathfinder 1E How to deal with high AC PCs

"Preferred approach to play", you say - preferred by whom? You basically nerf the player's (not very useful in the first place, but that doesn't come into it here) schtick, and for what gain? DMs who just break out the banhammer everytime they feel they can't handle something a player has thrown...

Pathfinder 1E How to deal with high AC PCs

pemerton: That's not exactly what I'm advocating, no. I'd opt to make the player feel useful as much as everybody else, but also challenge him from time to time with stuff his high AC doesn't help him with. The combination ought to serve in communicating: 'you made a choice, and it's having...

Pathfinder 1E How to deal with high AC PCs

To me this all sounds like the PC rather pigeonholed himself. Yes, he's got very high AC, but what is that actively accomplishing? Only that he doesn't get attacked very often, because it is mostly futile anway. Smart opponents should just ignore him. You said yourself he can't really draw aggro...

    Improving a Dragon's DR

What, so the fighter types don't get nice things? Now they also have to deal with a dragon's DR, where the casters have nothing to worry about.

    Rules Question: Non-Good Half Celestial

Oh, that's true! I somehow always read over "his own" in the rules text: "A cleric can’t cast spells of an alignment opposed to his own or his deity’s (if he has one)." I apologize!

    Rules Question: Non-Good Half Celestial

He will deafen himself, but there's nothing in the rules preventing even an evil caster from using Holy Word. Or a good Cleric from Creating Undead etc.

    Improving a Dragon's DR

To reiterate, +1 frost holy speed keen is still the better way to spend your money, since the Greater Magic Weapon spell still completely obviates the need for higher "plus" enchantments.

D&D 3.x 3.5 e6, what are some good multiclass options?

Note that you still need to be proficient with that heavy armor, or you'll incur hefty attack penalties, even while you're casting spells with no problems!

D&D 3.x 3.5 e6, what are some good multiclass options?

3rd level spells still need 5th+ level characters to cast them. If you have easy access to such NPCs, and they'll craft you a bunch of wands for free, of course... but in my experience, NPCs don't come in the "high" level variety unless as villains or PCs in an E6 game. Note that liquid wealth...

D&D 3.x 3.5 e6, what are some good multiclass options?

Some general things to consider: 1. Capstone feats are really powerful. They're basically as if you took another level or even more, at least with regards to one of your main class features. So you shouldn't multiclass if it means you miss out on your capstone. For example, a Bard with Inspire...

Pathfinder 1E Paladin tank - your help appreciated

Yeah, but where the Oracle has to invest a revelation to wear good armor and wield good weapons, the Paladin has those already. I think the Paladin chassis just lends itself better to the tank role. Sure, once Divine Power comes online, the Oracle can go toe to toe with a Pally, but that's still...

Pathfinder 1E Paladin tank - your help appreciated

Channeling positive energy also requires two uses of your Lay on Hands ability as a Paladin (which is actually very useful in Pathfinder), so it's not the most efficient way of going about group healing. The same would hold true for Sacred Healing. Although the idea is interesting.

Pathfinder 1E Paladin tank - your help appreciated

My DM unfortunately has very little prep time due to workload and doesn't feel like learning more content. As I said, he's still a bit inexperienced with d20 as a whole. That's not a problem though, I'm cool with that. I'm DMing a weekly game myself and sympathize... You're right on the action...

Pathfinder 1E Clerics and negative energy

I think it sounds like giving up entirely too much for entirely too little. How about just adapting that Versatile Channeler feat to work with Channeling Smite, and calling it a day? You do spend two feats for this trick, after all! If you want to have just one feat that combines both, I'd...

Pathfinder 1E Paladin tank - your help appreciated

Hey guys! I'm looking to build a versatile tank for our group, whose lack of one nearly cost another PC her life yesterday evening... would kindly ask for your help! Supplements used are Core plus APG currently, but some 3.x stuff (especially Forgotten Realms) has been allowed in the past, and...

    D&D 3.x 3.5E magic item compendium

The upshot of this can be interpreted two ways: 1) A low-level Fighter is as dysfunctional as a Wizard after an encounter or two. The Fighter, however, can quickly be made functional again by the right buddy, while the Wizard can't as easily. This seems true enough at low levels, however it...

I do so allow. But I was replying mostly to the sentence "Now, if the spell gave all of the above at the same time...". Which it does, demonstrably. While you clearly saw that "there is a problem", your understanding of what exactly that problem might be bore assistance in my opinion. :p

    D&D 3.x 3.5E magic item compendium

Mage Armor and Shield give armor and shield bonuses to AC, respectively. Those are not hard to come by; Fighters get them, too. These spells are not what makes Wizards and Sorcerers special. Alter Self can grant a natural armor bonus, which stacks with these, and which other classes have a hard...
