    Stormlight rpg

How baked in is the setting? Could you pick up the game just for the mechanics and run it with a more generic fantasy world like Greyhawk or Forgotten Realms?

AD&D 1E Greyhawk: Who kidnapped Prince Thrommel?

Was this revealed in Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil? I can't quite remember.

Dragonlance More Dragonlance coming in 2026

I'm not really interested in treading old ground. We need a new trilogy like War of the Souls to spark new life into the setting.

RPG Print News – Troll Lord Games, Melsonia Arts Council, and More

... To answer my own question. Troll Lord's have said Castle Zagyg Yggsburgh "will eventually be updated, but for now, you can get it exactly as it appeared in 2008." So I'll wait for the updated version when they roll out the full Castle Zagyg line.

    D&D 5E (2014) 5e Oerth − the planet of Blackmoor and Greyhawk

I've always felt the Bandit Kingdoms was like the Wild West. Especially with the Rift Canyon nearby also. How do you give the Flanaess an American cultural flavour? I guess it would be somewhat anachronistic but you could layer traits of a modern US over the top of a feudal medieval milieu. For...

    D&D 5E (2014) 5e Oerth − the planet of Blackmoor and Greyhawk

Sounds like an interesting campaign. Have you taken into consideration the Great Migrations? What is the Earth-analog of the Sueloise and Oeridians in your setting? These migrations are said to have moved from the west into the east to fill the Flanaess. With the Flan being the native...

    D&D 5E (2014) 5e Oerth − the planet of Blackmoor and Greyhawk

That's some great work there and well researched. Just to clarify... so you decide on the real-life ethnicities by matching up Oerth geographical features to Earth ones? And with the Flanaess, which you've designated as largely American, is this in geographical features only? As America didn't...

D&D 5E (2024) Should 2014 Half Elves and Half Orcs be added to the 2025 SRD?

In Lord of the Rings, are humans, elves and orcs all different species? Or are they the same species and can interbreed? I know Tolkien referred to all of them as different "races" rather than "species".

D&D General What would be a good published setting to use for a dead/dying world that has been taken over by Tharizdun?

Thanks for drawing my attention to this. It looks pretty cool and I might be able to get some ideas from it. I’m definitely going for a more end-of-the-world vibe, though. Another book I was looking at was Cthulhu Apocalypse by Pelgrane Press. I know it’s 1930s Earth but it might have some...

    D&D 5E (2024) The 10 Species in "Your Ideal 2024 PHB"

This is my pick, too. For me it covers off all the classics.

D&D General What would be a good published setting to use for a dead/dying world that has been taken over by Tharizdun?

Thanks, I'll check it out. I did a bit of googling and it looks like there's 10 books in the series spanning from 1982 to 2022.

RPG Print News – Troll Lord Games, Melsonia Arts Council, and More

Any news on the rest of the Castle Zagyg lineup? Are they updating the whole line (including previously published volumes) to the new Reforged ruleset?

D&D General Royal Mail D&D 50th Anniversary Stamps

I guess if he hasn't done anything for 5E it's been at least 10 years. I wonder if they'll invite him back to do D&D books again.

D&D General What would be a good published setting to use for a dead/dying world that has been taken over by Tharizdun?

Oh, I see. I'll take another look at it. What are the post-apocalyptic features?

D&D General What would be a good published setting to use for a dead/dying world that has been taken over by Tharizdun?

I couldn't see a connection when I glanced over the wiki about this setting. It is an island divided up between the Knorr barbarians and Charonti necromancers. Can you please tell me a little more about the setting and how it would be suitable?

D&D General What would be a good published setting to use for a dead/dying world that has been taken over by Tharizdun?

I've got some Scarred Lands 3E books. The setting is too normal, I think. It had a bit of a shake up 150 or so years ago but now goes about its business almost as a normal fantasy setting.

D&D General What would be a good published setting to use for a dead/dying world that has been taken over by Tharizdun?

Oh, good. I wasn't sure how baked in it was. I would just want those ancestries to face Decay like any other creature on the world.

D&D General What would be a good published setting to use for a dead/dying world that has been taken over by Tharizdun?

I did consider Dark Sun but a blistering hot desert world didn't seem Tharizdunny to me somehow. Maybe the EEE would work, though, as that entity is tied to Elemental Evil and Athas has a strong tie to the four elements. EEE has always been a front for Tharizdun to hide behind, though. I somehow...
