D&D General Greyhawk to Faerun and Beyond: A Multiversal D&D Lore Book Is Coming This Fall

Seems like a taster set but at quite a high price. I'd pay good money for a comprehensive Greyhawk setting & lorebook. One that includes absolutely everything from the past 50 years. All the stuff from Dragon, Dungeon, the modules, everything.

Does anyone else remember the Househunters from Dungeon magazine? House-sized mimics.

How about offering a non-combat feat - or one not related to their class - at levels 2 and 6 and see how you get on?

D&D 5E (2014) Suggestions: From Greyhawk to Vecna: Eve of Ruin

Dig out your old copies of Dungeon magazine. 'Racing the Snake' comes immediately to mind, as well as an adventure where the objective is to rescue a woman from the cult of Tharizdun. However, you could reverse the problem: simply advance the campaign date by a year and up the PCs' levels to...

    D&D General Re-Loring Monsters

Nehael? In the Greyhawk setting I was working on, the empire to the west of the Sea of Dust was going to be primarily populated by dragonborn.

Wasn't there an article in Dragon along these lines? Sometimes you want one; sometimes the other.

D&D 5E (2014) How would YOU nerf the wizard? +

See this thread: D&D 5E - How would you balance this modification to spellcasters? and particularly this post https://www.enworld.org/threads/how-would-you-balance-this-modification-to-spellcasters.641458/post-7432652 Unfortunately I never got to try it.

D&D 5E (2014) How would YOU nerf the wizard? +

I've arrived fashionably late so skipped the preceding 24 pages but here's what I would do: change the wizard to work off a short rest. Halve the number of spell slots they get (minimum 1) and have them recover one spell slot of each level up to their Proficiency Bonus -1 on a Short Rest (i.e...

D&D General How involved are your gods?

Back when I was DM I took the line that 'the gods love a good show'. Engage them, entertain them, and they'll be more receptive.

D&D 5E (2014) Where Does The Multiversal Vecna: Eve of Ruin Visit?

I've not been keeping track of this. Not the Rod of 7 Parts again! Can't we have the PCs trying to assemble the Codex of Infinite Planes or the Teeth of Dahlver-Nah or something?

D&D 5E (2014) GM: Who Do You Target? [READ OP BEFORE VOTING]

This is the BBEG! Of course they have at least the first two if not all three. BTW I forgot that the BBEG will Action Surge for a second full Action of movement. (Action Surge by itself is a superb escape power for Fighters.) And let's not forget that the BBEG's big attack has a save. Anyone...

D&D General No Humans? (Well, the players... but that's it.)

Sure. In my version of the Greyhawk setting I envision the big empire to the west of the Sea of Dust as being dragonborn.

D&D 5E (2014) GM: Who Do You Target? [READ OP BEFORE VOTING]

I'm 6 pages late but if I can be dropped the next round then I'm going to try to escape. Unless I'm a sacrificial clone or simulacrum of the BBEG, of course. :) I'll use my Lair Action first, then hopefully this will trigger use of a Legendary Action, then I use my Action and Bonus Action.

    5e Immortal Rules

KISS: remember that you only roll when the result is in doubt; most often a mortal just doesn't get to roll against an immortal. Hence all those quests for the McGuffin: only when you have the McGuffin do you get to roll.
