Thanks for the clarification, Jeff. :) Zaukrie, I've sent you a PM ;)

Pathfinder 1E Paizo's Age of Worms pdfs, and hunting for originals

Since it seems to be quite impossible to find a complete print series of the Age of Worms or Savage Tide adventure paths online (mostly the first issue of each), I'm starting to consider acquiring the pdfs from Paizo. However, I would like to know from those of you who have them how is the...

Tell me about these older edition D&D products [list updated: Nov 20/10]

Curse my luck for being limited to buying online and not having a handy discount book store with small treasures such as you have...:(:p Well, I don't think I'm quite impartial as far as Ravenloft goes, but neither am I a "Ravenloft rulz! Everything else sux!!" guy. ;) Dead as a...

Tell me about these older edition D&D products [list updated: Nov 20/10]

Ah, yes. That was the last official 3.5 product for Ravenloft, while under White Wolf's tenure. They allowed the license to revert to WotC since, apparently, the (increased?) cost of renewing it was more than it was worth to WW. That was a sad thing. It would have been interesting to see the...

Tell me about these older edition D&D products [list updated: Nov 20/10]

That is another good adventure I still have to get my hands on... B-) Btw, here's another place where you can find a wealth of reviews on practically every Ravenloft product released up until 2003: the Secrets of the Kargatane Reviews page (kindly brought back from the dead by the Wayback...

Tell me about these older edition D&D products [list updated: Nov 20/10]

If they're not too expensive (i.e. less than MSRP) you might consider getting another copy. They're quite hard to find at decent prices, at least online, and you may be able to make some money out of it if you ever decide to go the eBay route. ;) I'd say that if you like the concept of the...

Tell me about these older edition D&D products [list updated: Nov 20/10]

Wow! That last book-hunting foray was really fruitful! I'm quite jealous of some of the ones you got! :p Btw, congratulations on getting Champions of the Mists and Carnival. You won't it. ;) Edit: Also, The Evil Eye is a great adventure. It's considered one of the best of the Ravenloft 2e line...

My one criticism of 4th ed: poor artistic style

What I don't like from 4e's aesthetics is the blatant recycling of art from previous 3e products. While the pictures themselves are good, recognizing a previously used piece of art screams "cheap!" in my head. Even more so when the original concept wasn't related to the current use. I.E. The...

Tell me about these older edition products [old list]

Quite well, I think. The Carnival is pretty self-contained, as I remember. There are a few Ravenloft-specific references (the Skurra, some details about the carnival's leader's goals), but nothing that can't be adapted to another setting by changing a few names here and there. :)

Tell me about these older edition products [old list]

Well, actually, the Children of the Night series was designed to be a companion to the VR Guides, providing short adventures set around NPCs created using the rules detailed in those products, so even if you don't like the fluff, you miss some of the mechanics used to create the NPCs.

Here's my opinion on the books I have from your list: RAVENLOFT Islands of Terror [RR4] - An interesting accessory for new Ravenloft domains: Nidala, Wildlands, Scaena, I'Cath, Saragoss, Timor, Pharazia, Stauton Bluffs and Nosos. Given that you already have Domains of Dread, its usefulness...

WotC puts a stop to online sales of PDFs

And, once again, it's at times like these when we should all say out loud with utmost sincerity: "Thank you, Ryan Dancey, for the OGL!"

Tell me about these older edition products [old list]

Years ago, when the old Kargatane.com site was still "the official Ravenloft website", there was a transcript of the cd script, as well as edited sounds from the original files, so as to remove the "bleep" at the end of each track. I'm pretty sure that I still have those among my backups, so if...

Tell me about these older edition products [old list]

To be precise, Domains of Dread was post Grand Conjunction and post Grim Harvest, as well. So in DoD, Darkon was "Necropolis", with the weird event of everyone there suddenly referring to their domain by the new name after the events detailed in Requiem. :erm: IMHO opinion, and as was stated by...

    Bard supplements

Multiclassing? As for options for bards, you could try looking at supplements like Complete Arcane or Complete Adventurer. I'm sure there must be some 3rd party supplement that addresses bards (quintessential bard?), but right now I can't recall one.

Can't find a used PHB v.3.5 for under $45 USD

Don't forget that there are also resellers and speculators who want to take advantage of this sudden "spike" of demand. And, also, scarcity tend to increase an item's value, and many people are drawn to that, even if they didn't have any interest in the item in question before (see previous...

    Dawnforge errata?

Well, all three of the Dawnforge books that I have are 3.5 compliant. And, though I don't have them in front of me right now to check, I seem to recall that there were some apparent mistakes with the racial talent trees/transformations. i.e. Missing prerequisites for some of those. I'll have...

    How is 2nd Edition?

Mechanicaly, it isn't as intuitive as the later versions of D&D, which aimed at a unified approach (d20 roll + modifiers = DC or higher to succeed). There are situations where rolling higher is better (attack rolls, saving throws) and others where the opposite is true (non-weapon proficiencies...
