Dragonlance Would you allow Kender outside of Dragonlance?

Sure, it was many years ago, so most of the details have slipped my mind... but as I recall... Since personal property wasn't an issue, he might grab certain things.... but it wasn't to own them. So at worst, he might grab something that caught his eye, but if you asked for it, he just gave it...

Dragonlance Would you allow Kender outside of Dragonlance?

If a *player* decides to play a Kender in a disruptive manner.... that is the fault of the *player*, not the Kender PC. I played a Kender in a campaign for a number of years.... definitely played as a Kender, yet everyone had fun and it was a productive and useful member of the party. If (as...

    D&D 5E (2014) Keen Weapons in 5th Edition?

Being able to 'crit on demand' is very powerful for things like Sneak Attack or Paladin Smiting. Perhaps just allow it to do Double Damage; but not again until dawn.

    D&D 5E (2014) Roll20's RNG - or Evil Electronic Dice Gods?

eh... I have only been with my current DM for a few months. And I have already seen her roll 2 Crits... with disadvantage! Yeah, when you see double 20... y'know the gods have it in for you...

    D&D 5E (2014) League character level

If you start at first, and work your way to 4th, and if everyone else is playing Tier 2 adventures..... you can use downtime days to go from 4 to 5. But yeah, you need to start at 1st level.

D&D 5E (2014) Is Find Familiar essentially "gain Advantage on all skill checks and attacks"?

Few things to keep in mind. The Combat Help Action allows you to us the Working Together rules from p. 175 Under Working together it states: "A character can only provide help if the task is one that he or she could attempt alone" and "a Character can help only when two or more individuals...

D&D 5E (2014) Guess Who Wants to Pay Top Platinum for Your Magic Items! (Tyranny of Dragons question)

So... are you playing in AL? Or did you just snag the AL adventures for a home campaign. In AL, you can't sell them at all. For a home game... what do they want to sell? Most of those items are at least usable. More usable than the gold they will get in return.

    D&D 5E (2014) A maladroit rogue?

Are you planning on *starting* with a 13/14 dex, or *continuing* with a 13/14 dex? Starting with one isn't that big of a deal, you will be behind a +1 on some skills etc. But..eh.... If you plan on increasing Str with ASI instead of Dex, then you need to determine your role, You will not be...

    D&D 5E (2014) Swimming in armor

Weight is different than encumbrance. Trying to swim in shirt jeans and shoes is really hard; putting those same items in a back pack isn't nearly as hard. It is amazing how much simple shoes hinders swimming. (You will notice those 'samurai' swimmers had bare legs and feet).

ELEMENTAL EVIL Player's Companion - FREE!

I think it would be *horrible* to have something like the EE players companion come out monthly. That is just *way* more crunch bloating up the system than I want to deal with.

D&D 5E (2014) Hit Point Recovery Too Generous

I agree with you, even as a player I don't like how you can go from 50hp to 3, go to bed, and wake up at 50 again. And despite the snarky comments, objecting to this doesn't mean you want to spend weeks healing or worrying about dysentery. Thinking about how to deal with Hit dice: Either going...

    D&D 5E (2014) Random Treasure

Back in 1E, we there we found a random item, and the DM rolled... and back then you had to roll on a chart to see what chart to roll on, which sometimes directed you to another chart..... which had a 1% chance for an Artifact! Yep, we *randomly* found an artifact.

    D&D 5E (2014) hide action usability?

Sure, and if you just 'come out of hiding' that will be pretty automatic. But your statement that I was responding to indicated the person was trying to Stealth up to you.... Then I will not always make that an autofail..... sneaking up on someone is a real thing, and so if the rogue is...

    D&D 5E (2014) hide action usability?

If you are on the battlefield, and *not* being hyper alert to those you are not fighting, you will quickly get stabbed in the back. "Field Awareness" is *very* important. Otherwise the person in front of you just keeps you busy long enough for his buddy to come up behind you. Compared to just...

D&D 5E (2014) Why go Strength over Dexterity?

How do you worry about benefits, without focusing on Min/Maxing? You pick Dex because you want to be quick, you pick Str because you want to be strong.... Now, if you care about actual benefits... GWM, PAM, SM, and grappling all rely on Str.

    D&D 5E (2014) hide action usability?

I feel generally the same. A few sessions ago, my archer (ranger/rogue) was in a fight, and was able to slide down an embankment. At that point I felt okay using Hide because I was able to Hide, move 30' in either direction, then next turn move some, Attack, Hide again, and move some more...

    D&D 5E (2014) hide action usability?

    1) I disagree that they will automatically spot them, kind of makes stealth worthless if it does. But that may be a different discussion. 2) I would not say it always causes the hide check to have disadv, it depends on the circumstances: how many on each side, other distractions, how many...

    D&D 5E (2014) hide action usability?

Because according to the rules, people are more alert to their surroundings during combat.

    D&D 5E (2014) Adv. League: What's in it for a GM?

It can be, but some of the players are there because they don't have time for a bigger commitment.
