D&D 5E (2014) Player's Vote against Errata; GM dies of shock

As an AL DM.... you are perfectly fine ignoring the Sage Advice and keep it at 1hp per berry.

D&D 5E (2014) Player's Vote against Errata; GM dies of shock

Not quite. WotC has stated that Sage Advice is the official clarification of how he rules actually work.

D&D 5E (2014) breaking the healing rules with goodberries

It doesn't matter if the spell scales.. if you use a 4th level slot, it is a 4th level spell.

    D&D 5E (2014) Assassinate

So you guys are saying that if I am invisible, and thus it is *impossible* to see me... there is no effect on my Hide or their Perception checks... But if I am visible, and hiding in an area of Dim Lighting.... then they have a disadvantage on perception checks... Sorry, but that makes no...

    A 13th-level Dungeon/Wilderness Crawl for D&D 5E

If the adventure is for 13-16.... why is the prelude only 10-11. Are you supposed to play the prelude, then go do some other adventure or two...then come back? If so, I'm not sure if that is annoying, or really cool....

    D&D 5E (2014) Assassinate

Um.... because it doesn't exist, and in fact goes directly against the rules that do exist...???

    D&D 5E (2014) Move and Attack question

But there is no rule supporting this. You *start* with only one move, but then you can "break it up"... and you move 10'.... then you move 15'. There is nothing in the rules saying that those two moves are really just one move.... While you quote "your move"... the movement rules *never* use...

    D&D 5E (2014) Assassinate

Can you provide the rule stating that surprise ends after the first attack?

    D&D 5E (2014) Move and Attack question

If you look on p.190 where they talk about breaking up your move, it refers to "move 10'" then attack, then "move 15'". Those are listed as two separate moves, thus you start a move, and end that move; then attack; then start another move. Otherwise the rule would be "you can't end your turn"...

    D&D 5E (2014) Assassinate

I am not complaining about the rules, I am complaining about your assertions. I can show the rule that says the DM is to determine which creatures are surprised. That is not an issue. *YOU* have claimed that the rules say for the DM to determine when the creatures are no longer surprised...

    D&D 5E (2014) Assassinate

Hmmm... can you provide a rule for this...?? Anywhere? Where does it say the DM makes that determination?

    D&D 5E (2014) Assassinate

You are 100% wrong. The rules explicitly state " The DM can also decide that circumstances influence a roll in one direction or the other and grant advantage or impose disadvantage as a result." It is the DMs *job* to adjudicate when circumstances would provide advantage or disadvantage. You...

    D&D 5E (2014) Surprise underrated abilities

Bless lets you target the PCs that benefit from it the most. Its reliable. FF lets you target the enemies in a small cube, and you have to hope they fail their dex save. Its not as reliable, and Legendary resistance stops it in its tracks. Using the 50% hit chance is easier.... it also skews...

    D&D 5E (2014) Beholder hunting: nasty counter-tactics to Darkness?

Well... did you think that *none* of my suggestions made any sense? If the griffs can't see through the darkness.... this is a suicide mission. How do they even navigate the ship?

    D&D 5E (2014) Fill-able Character Sheet with Adventure League Branding v1.0

Hi, Welcome to Enworld, and thanks for sharing. A few comments.... I assume you plan for it to autocalculate some things, but it isn't working. (unless I am not doing something right...) I also realize that some of these may be manual and some automatic.... but I can't tell which are which...

    D&D 5E (2014) Beholder hunting: nasty counter-tactics to Darkness?

Okay.... I wasn't familiar with Giffs, so I had to look them. Nothing I found indicated they could see through darkness. Is this something you house ruled, or where does it come from? In 5E even Devils can't see through darkness. It is a very powerful ability...especially if you gave it to an...

    The Confederate Flag

Thats great in theory... until the new 'national' law follows the New Jersey rules and they have to give up all of their, now illegal, guns. And even if it follows a less harsh set of laws, it means all of those Vermont folks (and 3-4 other states) are now breaking the law. Why should the...

    D&D 5E (2014) Assassinate

Well, if you purposely ignore one of the core mechanics of the game... and one of the few that allow a DM to tailor the encounter to a specific situation... of course you are going to have trouble getting the general rules to apply to a specific situation. Does gaining advantage on an attack...

    D&D 5E (2014) Assassinate

I was referring to the PHB.... the fact that Mearls agrees with the PHB is just gravy on top.
