Which is a strange and confusing thing, in my mind. Why include a picture on a character sheet if it's not depicting the character? And some mighty fine counters they are. :D

Same here. I bought the adventure, after all. I'm generally excited about D&D 4e, but I think that they really dropped the ball with KotS. I think the character art is one more bit of sloppiness that ends up making this important introductory product much less than what it could have been...

I keep mine. Covering them in contact paper helps preserve them and keep them somewhat stiff and also allows me to directly mark on the counters and erase as needed. Very useful.

Ahh, yes. The sarcastic, dismissive replies to valid complaints about KotS in specific and 4e in general continue.... Suffice to say that I also find this aspect of the character art annoying.

I find it particularly interesting that there is a fully statted-out power description--The Wrath of Orcus--detailing what happens when Kalalel is defeated and fails his demon master instead of just a fluff description of the shadow tentacles pulling him into the darkness. I'm not sure exactly...

Well said. I think what you've said here sums up my feelings. Sure, the designers didn't actually outright say that 3rd edition sucked, but I've heard plenty of claims that they would never play it again. In fact, one said that the thought of playing 3rd edition instead of 4th made him want...

A party of 14th level characters against a horde of basic skeletons? :uhoh: I can't imagine what you could have really expected to happen other than ending up with a pile of charred bone.
