D&D 4E Running player commentary on PCat's 4E Campaign - Heroic tier (finished)

:hmm::-S Is this one of those "trick questions" I've heard about? :erm:

WHAT!?!?!? WHO charged to the far side of the room and rushed through the (trapped) doors that the (formerly) big baddie had gone through while the rest of us were still fighting the rest of his guards? Him trapped, us in the room with the exit and all the gold? And who killed him on the...

As one of the players in the game in question, I would love to answer these questions for you. :) Piratecat is a Rat Bastard Piratecat is a Rat Bastard. If there is anything else I can answer, please just ask me. :) I'm the Defending Fighter with one hit point left, on a team whose healers...

D&D 4E Running player commentary on PCat's 4E Campaign - Heroic tier (finished)

The above really put a lot of words in my mouth (blindly, hope it works out, not use tactics). Let me rephrase... To *have* to use *perfect* tactics, and/or be a tactical wizard (which many excellent players are not) just to not get screwed on your powers, means the designers, who worked so...

D&D 4E Running player commentary on PCat's 4E Campaign - Heroic tier (finished)

This assumes: 1) You have an action point available, and have not already used one in the encounter (both *very* sketchy assumptions in the combats I've been in). 2) The rouge (or another PC) is in a position to be safe to wait (we have had many situations where a delay for another attack...

But consider: PC rogue Initiative 16 NPC villain Initiative 15. Other PCs 14, 13, 9... Rogue hits with Daily. Yay! NPC goes next, hits PC for massive damage, then saves. Boo! Zero advantage was gained from the Daily. And this type of initiative order is not in the least unusual.

Here is an idea that scales and should be simple. Make a hard cap at "Number of rounds = power level + 1" :)

What are the most worthless feats (Heroic)?

Shield push is excellent as a fighter who uses a shield. Ant marked target that attacks an ally not only gets attacked before they can strike (normal Fighter mark) but you can push them a square away, which means their attack on your squishie never even happens. This comes up almost every...

Dry & Wet Erase Tiles from 3SG

Hello, you don't know me from Adam, but I just visited you site for the first time, and I like your presentation. Two quick suggestions? First one: On you "About Us" page you say: Our ultimate goal is to be part of helping change a night of TV or consul gaming into face to face conversation...

Since I did not see an answer... I think you made the right call, but maybe wrong DC? A portcullis is pretty much lifted straight up by simple pulleys; it is counter weighted somewhat, or else it would be nearly unliftable. But for a person to lift by brute force from the portcullis itself...

How many movement points is diagonal plus one elevation diagonally?

Should be two. One over, one up. Ah, I thought you meant, move one diagonally level *then* move one diagonally up.

That was a wonderful obit, done professionally and (at the least) well researched.

D&D 4E What Campaign Settings would you like to see for 4e?

I voted for Eberron, Dark Sun, Planescape and Ravenloft, with Dark Sun and Planescape topping the list. Tons of flavor and variety, creative, exciting settings, room for all sorts of exotic adventures, none of the emo of the FR or DL settings. (ok, Ravenloft can be played emo, but it is not...

New Design & Dev : Party Role

You are free to disagree with me, but "You make no sense!"? OK, what part of: I think the name is dumb, and calling a person's personal dedication and training a "power source" is lame. is it you do not comprehend? And do not confuse "does not like the mechanic/concept" with "upset".
