Did the WotC boards blow up...again?

    Boy this is getting old.

Is 4E the New Coke of RPGs?

I am talking about people who actually played. My point is the number of negative reactions seems to increase the more people play the new system. Granted the pro-4E crowd is very vocal and aggressive in its support of the game, but I see lots of people trying the new system, and shaking their...

Is 4E the New Coke of RPGs?

There are many positive reactions, but from where I am standing the negative response seems to be growing, and growing. It is like New Coke because a substantial number of loyal customers are outraged by the new "flavor" and design.

Is 4E the New Coke of RPGs?

I have to say I have been very struck by all the negative reactions to 4E (both on the web, and in my own group). From what I am hearing at my local gaming stores, people are generally unhappy with the new rules system. Its still early, and gamers could warm up to the product over time, but it...

Did the WotC boards blow up...again?

But that is different than what Morrus was doing. He was being snippy but also making valid points. You are describing a customer who is too angry and irrational to even convey his complaint to you.

Did the WotC boards blow up...again?

That is a very bad way to do customer service. It is human nature, but there is a good chance the person who feels that way has a legit complaint. Not only that, but angry customers tell others about their experience. If anything, give the angry guy more attention.

Coup de Grace vs. Players -- Mean DM or Fair Play?

My players know that death is not a rarity in my game sessions. I don't fudge rolls or coddle my players. I figure my NPCs would do everything they can to survive. Killing a fallen PC is fair game as far as I am concerned.

Did the WotC boards blow up...again?

But Morrus is the boss, and the face of the company. Plus he entertains. This would be more like Bill O'Reily calling Keith Olberman a "snott-nosed jerk". The fact is there is an audience for this kind of thing because Wizards has managed to anger so many of its customers and other d20 companies...

Did the WotC boards blow up...again?

He has a point. It is not like Morrus went to the Wizos site and posted these comments. Tao is the one stirring things up on a rival company's site.

Did the WotC boards blow up...again?

We are obviously talking about 2 different things here: professionalism and customer service. I honestly don't know how Morrus should be conducting himself, since I know little about the gaming industry and how people interact with one another. I can say that I did not personally think he was...

Did the WotC boards blow up...again?

I am here for the same reason. One problem that seriously needs to be addressed over there, and I honestly have no idea how these things work so I could be off, is the DDI General forum. At first Ken Troop came on and made it sound like we were going to have many of our questions answered...

Which version of D&D or D&D-like will you be playing by the end of 2008 ?

I think we will probably be playing 3.5 based on my groups' overall reaction. I think there will still be 4E sessions, but it generally didn't go over as well as I had thought it would.

    What defines D&D ?

-Vancian Magic -Classes (with fighter, wizards, thief, and cleric being the most vital) -Races (with Human, elf dwarf, halfling, half-elf and gnome being the most vital) -Levels (having attacks that improve as you increasein level) -Fantasy Monsters, settings, and flavor

    Yet another "4.0 impressions" thread

Honestly it is a little early for me to settle on whether I like the new system or not (I have played about 4E 3 times since it was released). But here are my first impressions. First, it is very different from previous editions (3E was a bit of a break from 1E and 2E, but 4E seems radically...

Did the WotC boards blow up...again?

They are down again to day, which is why I am on EN World Now (Hellow Everyone!). I haven't been on any forum that has had as much trouble as the Wizards board. Today was the last straw for me. While I intend to keep posting there, I now have no intention of purchasing D&DI. Just seems to risky...
