Personally I have always thought that the Psion is way underpowered compared to the Wizard or Sorcerer.

I think it would depend on the type of campaign that you are running too. If your running a FR game and everyone is pretty familiar with it then starting at a higher level would not be a problem. But take a brand new homebrew that the players (and GM) are not familiar with then starting at 1st...

Oh agree totally and I didn't mean that a DM has to compromise his vision of his/her campaign world just because a player had to play X race or class. I was just trying to point out that players can add to a campaign world too. Input from players is a big source of neat ideas and it should not...

But the D&D (or any role-playing game for that matter) is a game! Not a competitive conflict between the DM and the players. It looks like your game has evolved into a power struggle between you and the players for control. It should be about the fun and providing a memoriable and enjoyable...

I don't think that is true. Look at Barsoomecore's campaign. Only humans (for the most part), 4 or 5 base classes, and limited magic. And I don't think his players are complaining about his great game at all! Look at Unearth Arcana. There are alot of good ideas how to add options and...
