I was having a discussion with a buddy of mine who I used to game with back in the day when we had a lot more time for such pursuits, and he reminded me of the game Torg put out by, I believe West End Games in the early 1990's.
We only tried it a couple of times due to some mechanical wonkiness in the system, but I did keep the boxed set for a while, and I found the setting (the reality wars) an extremely creative and utterly compelling attempt a game design...even more so than Rifts or GURPS which tried to accomoplish a similar goal.
I'm wondering what happened to Torg. Is West End still in business, and, if so, do they still guard the Torg licence jealously. With the advent of d20 modern and (soon) d20 future, as well as several great resources for cross genre gaming...we might finally have a mechanical system that can do Torg right.
And while we're on it. Is there any other 'lost' game systems that you'd like to see ressurected? With the modular d20 rules, and the (relatively) low cost to entry d20 business model, there must bew a few creative gems from years gone by that could be given the overhaul they always deserved.
