Dragon 382 - Controllers: Breaking the utility power paradigm

I thought the idea of utility powers was to not be attack powers, not that they shouldn't be combat powers.

Good miniature for a high level evil cleric?

I like this Reaper mini as an evil cleric. The Reaper figure finder is a fantastic resource, by the way.

    5e sooner than we think?

A new edition would have a new graphic profile, and not use the same font in the logo.

    The Foundling (and working link)

Dragon presents a new fiction piece, by Mike Resnick*, and there's githzerai - and clearly aimed towards me! (Though I haven't had time to read it yet.) Sadly, the link is broken. (Wizards, come on! Links aren't that hard!) This time there's a 'The_' that shouldn't be in there. Here's the...

Adventure on the road? (without the ambush)...

Sounds like a very nice session! I think I must force my players' characters into acting some day.

Adventure on the road? (without the ambush)...

For extra fun, the fence may, truthfully, tell that the goods come from an abandoned grave. The NPC adventurer's did indeed plunder the grave, and now a noble descendent finds out that the grave was plundered, and also recognizes the goods. (His ancestor was, of course, also an adventurer and...

Adventure on the road? (without the ambush)...

It's never to late to share ideas. (Even if the OP may not need them right now.)

Advice: Consequences for a player's mistakes

Prison break can definitely be fun - but it looks like just one of the PCs will be sent to prison, which makes for a rather dull game. You could play it out as a one-on-one, of course. Or the others could help him out. However, if you really are to punish the player/character it should perhaps...

Advice: Consequences for a player's mistakes

You mean, his story, that cannot be corroborated, versus that of all the other people seeing him on top of the wall killing his men and throwing them over the parapet? 'They were possessed, I tell you! Possessed!' The tricky part is to make something fun out of it. A trial could be a little...

Adventure on the road? (without the ambush)...

A classic travelling adventure is to meet a ghost, that does not look like a ghost at first, who needs their help at a task that becomes more difficult than it first seems. When they succeed the ghost is, of course, very grateful, and rewards them - an excellent time for an unusual immaterial...

And it still isn't working, nine hours later. :erm:

Clash of Steel up, normal link broken

The latest Dungeon adventure is up, Clash of Steel. As usual the link given on WotC's page is broken (though the above works), and will probably not be fixed for quite a few hours. This seems to happen every day now. This time they wrote that it should be in the #171 folder, and not as it...

    Dark Sun Cover Poll

In the 4e preview book about worlds and monsters and stuff they talked about how they were going to show more pictures of the fantastic worlds, and not just adventurers. And then the campaign book shows just a couple of adventurers close up? That's a very interesting way of introducing a setting.

Military leader, town leader - title?

I fear my brain is going...

Military leader, town leader - title?

A passion for history and a keen interest in language makes one, well, a hopeless besserwisser, I'm afraid. :o And while I'm at it I'd like to point out that the latin origin of Duke, Dux, simply means leader. It stems from duct, to lead (both men and water, or orchestras).

Military leader, town leader - title?

Actually lieutenant was the guy serving in lieu of the owner of the estate (tenant), that is a non-noble manger of a noble's estate. When he went to war instead of his lord he was still called a lieutenant.
