IRL, what do/did riders do with their lances before and after fights? Something I always wanted to know, but never had a pool of such useful folks to ask :D

I think I remember a big fat list of core and splatbook abbreviations in the guidelines for submitting an adventure to Dungeon Adventures. That was before 3.5 though, and those abbreviations might not be official, but conventional enough for you.

Yipes! Broken is right... thanks for pointing out that problem that was hiding in plane sight... I totally forgot about limited wish, and such. I suppose I'll have to think of a different cost, though I'm trying to avoid the icky XP costs which I hate so very, very much. Any comments on the others?

I'm not griping, but honestly confused... why'd they do all that weapon size stuff in 3.5? How is it better than what existed before?

I'm sure other people will blow me out of the water, but this is what I've got... first, when 3e just came out, we were in some Ravenloft adventure. There were these undead hunter-killer guys that used scythes... anyhow, two critted me in one round, and did something in the neighborhood of 120...

Beware certain creatures in the MM that don't follow that formula... my brain about exploded when trying to figure out the satyr :rolleyes:

Heh, even when I lived in El Cajon for years, I still went to Game Empire :D and that was before WotC had DnD...

There's a WotC in the Mission Valley mall, right next to the movie theater. There's Game Towne in Old Town, but you'd have to look up the exact location, and parking is a royal pain. And there's Game Empire (my FLGS of choice) which recently moved to Clairmont. It's on Clairmont Mesa Blvd...

I still play my very first character, Norman, a human fighter... I just played him last night, actually. I've been playing him for nine years last month, started in 1st edition, skipped 2nd, and he's 3E now. And after 9 years, he's a 12th level fighter/2nd level planar champion.

While not in yet, I leave May 4th for boot camp for the coast guard reserves. Gonna be a boatswain's mate. I'm counting the days =D

I'm making a new class, and it's not clear whether or not they should cast arcane or divine spells. That made me wonder if there was any mechanical difference, or if it was just a flavorful descriptor. So, can anyone tell me what mechanical difference, if any, is there between arcane and divine...

I'm in the minority that uses Wisdom for memory, so I would just use a normal Spot check :D Of course, there's nothing wrong with using Int for it... especially since it's a hidden role, and the players will have no idea. Hell, you could use Str instead of Wis, if it tickled your fancy. But...

I agree that the ranger is pretty campaign specific.... just so happens that they tend to be specific to most campaigns :D For a good few years, my group only played in Lankhmar (which I still can't spell), and there was never a ranger in sight, and we didn't really notice, come to think of...

Because splatbooks are evil :p Seriously though, 'tempest' is a little too flashy than what I'm looking for... and the abilities are a bit too boring. Removing penalties and adding bonuses does not a prestige class make, IMO.
