D&D 4E Quick Summary of how I would do 4E Birthright

No. One day I really am going to use The Eaters of Wisdom in one of my games. I cannot believe I haven't stolen them already!

TSR Jack Vance's Forgotten Contributions to D&D

These are not forgotten contributions. The headline is wrong. Again.

D&D General Looking for Spawning Stone picture

Planes of Chaos, IIRC. I know the picture you are talking about.

    D&D 3.x Why 3.5 Worked

Nor did 3.5E. The rules cannot fix "stupid". Yes, 3.xE broke down relatively early - even using PHB-only - but a lot of the really egregious complaints, such as the peasant railguns and the eternal kobold (whatever it was called), due to the DMs and players with no grasp of rules or logic. You...

    D&D 3.x Why 3.5 Worked

I still believe that one of the many reasons why 5E has been so successful is that it is, in so many ways, a natural successor to 1E or 2E and feels like those editions in play. (And, yes, I know there are differences, too.) Fortunately, offline versions of the 4E tools are still available.

    D&D 3.x Why 3.5 Worked

I got interrupted when I made my earlier post because I was going to mention your actual play threads as excellent examples of how 3.5E can work from levels 1-20.

    D&D 3.x Why 3.5 Worked

I'm an odd duck in that 4E is my edition of choice, but 3.5E was a great edition in which I ran my longest-running and highest level campaigns. As the OP correctly points out, it works perfectly well up to the levels that most people seem to play their D&D games. Frankly, if 3.5E had the same...

D&D 4E Get WotC 4e's Online Character Builder to work or get a sub

The folks at Discord are actually just posting my links.

D&D 4E Get WotC 4e's Online Character Builder to work or get a sub

There are at least two of these online already (as in, online versions of the Compendium).

    Great post, @Tyler Do'Urden .

    D&D 4E 4E WotC Tools dead?

The only book that didn't get an update was Halls of Undermountain for the character builder. Everything else is in the offline tools.

    D&D 4E 4E WotC Tools dead?

Yes, and it is unofficially available but Masterplan does a much better job.

D&D 4E Get WotC 4e's Online Character Builder to work or get a sub

Apple-pact warlock players in my group have been doing that with all the offline tools for about four years. It really does work!

    D&D 4E 4E WotC Tools dead?

Masterplan. All the WotC stat blocks are available and can easily be imported into Masterplan. It's not supported by the creator anymore but it's still available - as are the stat blocks. Masterplan allows you to import powers from other stat blocks. And the offline version of the Character...

TSR GENCON IX: When Many Sought Adventure

Not a worry. I definitely wasn't thinking it was an oversight on your part: After all, you were with Fritz Leiber! A couple of smaller adventures do not compare! :)

TSR GENCON IX: When Many Sought Adventure

Gen Con IX also featured a pair of Judges Guild adventures that were later published as the Gen Con IX Dungeons. For quite a while, I ran the first of those more than any other adventure I owned. I still use one of the NPC names - the nearly unpronounceable Grsk - in many of my campaigns. The...

D&D General I'm reading the Forgotten Realms Novels- #202 The Howling Delve by Jaleigh Johnson (Dungeons 2)

In my earlier post I mentioned that Lucas's gungans Salvatore's dwarves were brain-damaged and had speech impediments; I forget to mention that they almost uniformly have stupid names. Thanks for the reminder. RAS had access to Ed but he insisted on stupid names for so many characters when he...
