Tools of Two Trades (Weapliment Expertise) Article Up

I think the feat is primarily meant for Swordmages and Hexblades. Putting the prerequisite as "Any arcane class" allows for more utility but isn't meant to make them broadly useful.

New Star Trek TV Series In Development

Seeing as how a new series hasn't even been greenlit yet, I wouldn't put too much stock in this story. I'm sure new Trek has been being developed since before Enterprise was off the air. Lots of stuff gets developed all the time. A lot of it doesn't get greenlit though, and until a new series...

    Syfy cancels Eureka

Not only that, but keep in mind this is still technically the fourth season. These episodes we're watching were likely in production in the summer of 2010. Syfy decided to split up the third and fourth seasons over two summers, likely to extend the number of years aired whilst not having to go...

    Syfy cancels Eureka

It sucks, but it's not unexpected. Typically the 5th season is where contract re-negotiations happen (meaning the show will cost more money to make), and typically Syfy simply doesn't bother and cans the show. Filming for the 5th season ends this month.

    Design and Development: Skills

I suspect that Mearls' reason from separating it from feats was because anecdotally people don't generally take many skill feats. The purpose of the idea in general seems to be to make skills increase in utility as you increase in level, rather than a (IMO boring) simple math-based increase.

    ALPHAS--Never Let Me Go/Mission Log #5. 2011

    Cute little Warehouse 13 cameo/shoutout.

    Design and Development: Skills

Rather than choosing the "talents" (ie, feats) for a skill, I think it makes more sense for them to simply become available at certain skill ranks (see Alternity). I could see this intermingling with Skill Focus as well. Instead of SF(Athletics), you take SF(Climb) with a prerequisite of being...

Your favourite TV show and why?

Late to getting back on this, but if we're talking currently running shows, I'd have to go with Community. The second season had a bit too many concept episodes, but the creator (Dan Harmon) is more than aware of it and explained why he did it.

    ALPHAS--Rosetta/Mission Log #4. 2011

Or, it's a generic Upstate city. Fanwanking, Binghamton makes the most sense. It's relatively sparsely populated (very spread out), easy access to NYC by multiple routes (including air, train, and two highways), lots of abandoned buildings (economically depressed), and fairly low-key (no one...

    TRUE BLOOD/Fang 6-I Wish I Was the Moon /2011--BLOOD COUNT 4

I agree, the show is definitely flagging and flailing. This episode in particular was spectacularly boring. About the only parts I liked were Tommy-as-Sam (great acting by Trammell) and Jason's freak out and bonding with Jessica. I'll probably finish out the season, but I'm relatively sure I...

Your favourite TV show and why?

I'm not entirely certain I have an absolute favorite TV show. Not only is it dependent on my mood and genre interest, but a lot of shows have up and down periods. If I had to choose one and only one, I'd probably go with NewsRadio.

Adventure 1 (TIatAotW) Questions - SPOILERS

4E Version comments... Overall, I like the story a lot. Specifically, I like the way it's divided up into three distinct parts that provide ample stopping points. What's the purpose of the scene descriptors? While in some cases they're informative (especially regarding how long each scene...

    Eureka/Warehouse 13/Alphas Discussion (7/11 spoilers)

Yeah, been going through that myself, our group is down five positions, and they're training new people as fast/best they can. Still, it's lots of slack to pick up.

    Eureka/Warehouse 13/Alphas Discussion (7/11 spoilers)

I didn't see a Truth Seeker thread on the Monday night Syfy lineup, so I thought I'd get things going. There be spoilers, so if you haven't watched them yet, stop reading now. Eureka I know not everyone is a fan of the reboot, but I definitely am. The emasculation of a lot of the characters...

Pathfinder 1E [Pathfinder] Some class questions

I really want to play as "The Last Paladin of Flint" now.

    Optimal Number of classes?

Alternatively, one of the classes is not truly necessary. If you have to force mechanics to differentiate archetypes you're trying to model, perhaps it's better to let fluff speak for itself. To put it more bluntly, a ranger could easily be just a Fighter with fluff.

    Optimal Number of classes?

In my opinion, the optimal minimum number of classes is equal to the number of significantly different mechanics you want your classes to have. It's in the idea of significance that you'll arrive at a more granular or less granular system. Using 4E as an example: Basically, there are two...

First single from the upcoming Dream Theater album

My first thought was that the mix was very muddy. Hopefully that was a consequence of being a YT clip and not indicative of the album. Otherwise, this is just more of the same by DT. If it's representative of the album, I'm glad that DT has backed off a little from the heavier side; possibly...
