    An examination of player agency

Consistency is paramount at what level of the game? Because I can say right now that I'm playing a Mothership game in which we found out last session that the villain of the scenario is a powerful AI that has the ability to plan ahead and strategize at a level beyond what we as PCs could...

As if somehow those things are different.

Oh I am definitely a music snob. Also a coffee snob and a beer snob but strangely enough not a wine snob. I can be a food snob for some things, unless it’s pizza then I’m not.

    An examination of player agency

I think people are overly concerned about the idea that GM has some level of authority over the game and rather than go on about the superiority of their one true game that achieves their particular level of Nirvana, they’d be much happier playing a board game.

D&D General Sandbox and/or/vs Linear campaigns

I think of sandbox not as not having a goal but that the order of things is undetermined. I think most campaigns flit in and out of being sandbox and linear, sandbox and linear, back and forth. I may start a campaign in a tavern having created 5 to 10 simple plot books that could lead to other...

    An examination of player agency

I think some people would be much happier playing board games.

Even if I strip all of the political stuff away, I think there’s enough of a difference between classic country and modern country just on their own merits.

What Show Should Have Only Had One Season?

Hollywood has a lot of its own baked in mythology so if it were to do something totally different I wouldn’t be opposed

I kind of had Johnny Cash in mind when I wrote that. 😂

I think country music is a great example. I was predisposed to disliking it but when something is varied enough, you are able to reevaluate. But sometimes not! But at the end of the day, saying someone doesn’t know their own mind, or is somehow mislead…that’s just not something I can agree with.

Okay, I really can’t say I’ve ever had that kind of conversation with anyone before. I’ve had people try to convince me to try something, and I’ve given things second chances on the prospects that “things get better after the first episode” but I’ve never been swayed from something that I...

I’m sure that makes logical sense in your head but when people say they like something, it’s quite a take to say “Nah, you don’t actually like that because I don’t like it so how could you possibly like it?”

    Let's Talk About Short Campaigns

Having come off of two back to back long campaigns each running almost 2 years, I’m totally cool with a short campaign. Right now we’re playing Gradient Descent with Mothership, and it plays more like a shorter campaign. It seems perfect for the system - I can’t imagine a year long Mothership...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I kind of wish every now and then we'd get a "Hey guys, I really don't have anything more to say about this, and I don't want to just start dumping crap out here, so don't expect much else from the channel" but reality is they're making money off of it, and that's a tough ask to simply stop.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Pet peeve: Once you create a thread, unless someone is actively threadcrapping, you can't really control the direction people choose to take the conversation and chastising people into following the narrow boundaries that you personally find acceptable for the topic is some BS.
