Having received the Basic Moldvay box for Christmas, I believe my first purchase was L1 The Secret of Bonehill, which turned out to be a good sandbox. Alternatively, maybe I bought the Expert book (by itself, not the box) before L1.

Modern AGE by Green Ronin has a Pulp Mode you can choose to play. I'm currently running a 1920s pulp campaign set in my home town.

1981, as a player with D&D Holmes edition. We also played Gamma World, Toon, Star Frontiers, Top Secret, Call of Cthuluh, Melee and Wizard (which became Fantasy Trip) and Traveller. When not playing rpgs Cosmic Encounter was our default game. We also played Car Wars, Illuminati, Ogre, StarFire...

Status. For weapons, armours, clothing, etc.

I'll add Symbaroum to my list. After only 2 games we had a TPK and my lead player said he didn't like the system and the dark fantasy setting. Campaign ended for good. Big disappointment. I'm not selling my books. I'll run solitary adventures for myself. Maybe I'll find other players some day.

From what I recall Paramount was telling TV channels if they played B5 on the same night as Star Trek they would pull the show. My local station broadcast B5 at midnight + 1 minute. We all had programmed VCRs.

RIP. Never got to play Runequest despite wanting to. There was a failed attempt just before 5e came out. I recently bought the latest edition. Hoping to do a mini-campaign in 2021.
