Yeah. I see your point. But to be honest... D&D has the product for beginners. D&D Basic set Which would do the job nicely in 4 hours, I belive. The problem is, when you or anybody decide to begin with the game, he will not be offered this (in most cases) but PHB instead.

And yet the company still exist, still publishes hell lot of products, buy new licences and so on. They either print their own money or they sell their products to someone. The fact they you have not met anyone who uses or buys Mongoose products just proves the value of anecdotical evidence...

That would be true, if the dollar would have same value. Otherwise you should have to correct your estimates by this, which means they are more pessimistic. $30 million in 2001 =/= $30 million in 2006: Well... how much units did they (or any other source) reported in say 2001 or 1996? Or any...

Well, is it just me, or Dancey suddenly make a 180° turn with... I have a feeling, he was proponent of virtualization and tools such as e-tools and their better version based on some game engine (Arcanum was it?).

I voted "Strongly Agree", I really have gone through very easy creation phase with newbies on this new system and it is easy, smart and cool. I like it much and I hope to see it in 4e.

What about Mongoose?

Well... there is still hope... I think that Harry Potter RPG is really one of the great opportunities to improve the image of the industry, bring new players and hopefully more girls, which would than open opportunities for yet another games and so on. Like avalanche.

I remember, there was a specualtion recently about the character of mongoose "holy grail of RPG". And one of the speculated options was actually Harry Potter. That might be possible, if the story of the boy is now acutally over. I would really like some progressive HP d20 version.
