Steading of the Hill Giant Chief

Good idea, that man. Somewhat like the 2e Monstrous Arcana series from the late 90s.

What old modules would you like to see converted/reimagined??

The whole Desert of Desolation shebang would be good. The Perkins mentions I3 Pharaoh which is excellent stuff but I would like to see the whole story arc get the works. Slavelords too, as mentioned above. They have already done Tamoachan, which is the other big nostalgia hit for me.

Still no Gardmore Abbey map/art galleries

Yay! A few people (myself included) mentioned it on the Wizard forums too until someone took the initiative and DM'ed Greg Bilsland on Twitter. This was a week ago. Greg replied that it had "probably been overlooked" and that he would "look into it". He we are and the galleries are up. Gotta...

    Has WotC hit its stride?

It seems to me that the last several releases from WotC have all met with considerable praise, each one picking up sound bites along the lines of "best 4e book yet!" I am talking about Madness at Gardmore Abbey, Mordenkainen's Magnificent Emporium, the Neverwinter Campaign Guide and Heroes of...

Still no Gardmore Abbey map/art galleries

    Precisely that, yes!

I Did a Little Experiment and I'm Impressed.

Hussar: I can see how that could be a problem. Personally, we don't use MapTool for anything other than managing the map/tokens/LoS. I use a separate tool (4eTurnTracker) for managing the combat encounters and all dice rolls are made by, wait for it, actual physical real-life dice! The players...

Still no Gardmore Abbey map/art galleries

Guess what? Yep, my players wandered into the temple on Dragon's Roost last session, the first and biggest area of the whole adventure that I didn't have prepared. I had been putting off getting anything done in the hope that Wizards were about to release map galleries. I ended up having to call...

I Did a Little Experiment and I'm Impressed.

A little bit off-topic here but we are currently playing Gardmore Abbey on MapTool (me DMing) and it's working out just fine. Mind you, we don't use any frameworks or anything - MapTool, for us, is really just that: a map tool.

Still no Gardmore Abbey map/art galleries

So there they have released an art gallery from Heroes of the Feywild and *still* no Gardmore Abbey map or art galleries. Why?

Still no Gardmore Abbey map/art galleries

Madness at Gardmore Abbey has been available for, what, six weeks now? Plenty of time to put the usual map and art galleries together and publish them on the website along with all the rest (eg Dungeon issues). Does anyone know if and when we will get these? Or does anyone recall how long it has...

Finding magic items (primarily for DMs)

I don't like the wish-lists idea and neither do my players, so we don't use it. I used Quartermaster for a while but it hasn't been updated since AV2 came out and keeps throwing up a lot of errors (or maybe that's just me and my Opera browser). I recently made the decision to stick to the...

House Rules in the Character Builder

That's what I understand, yes. I have a few campaign-specific Channel Divinity powers I would like to use but can't. All I have done so far is add in the maths fix feats.

House Rules in the Character Builder

Brilliant! Not before time, of course, and it doesn't actually go far enough but this at least allows us to implement in the CB the maths fixes that the majority of DMs utilise.

    Questions about DMing Gardmore Abbey

SPOILERS BELOW! A level or two should work okay but one thing that needs mentioning is that the Deck of Many Things itself comes into play piecemeal during the adventure. That is to say that the characters (and villains) locate individual cards during the course of their time in Gardmore Abbey...

    Gardmore Abbey art/maps?

Does anyone know if or when we will see the art and/or maps from the excellent 'Madness at Gardmore Abbey' adventure available online? Like they do for Dungeon adventures and they did for Tomb of Horrors and probably everything else. If they have already released these and I just can't find...

    Creature size and cover

I think this approach would be very powerful indeed and is probably taking things too far. A small creature could become hidden pretty much anywhere and any time, this way, with little penalty. I don't think that addresses the issue though. It is not so much that small creatures should be able...

    Creature size and cover

Okay so here's the thing, we have a halfling rogue who wants to use stealth to go hidden and attack with combat advantage/sneak attack. The battlefield is an outdoors location in full daylight, with a few trees and bushes about. The halfling (Pansy) runs up behind a tree and tries to hide...

    Deck of Many Things Replacement

I remember playing 1e AD&D many years ago with my brother, and without a DM. He played a high-level cleric called Father Lint and I played a monk called Brother Barni. We toured the game world, encountering all kinds of monsters in order to defeat them and take their artifacts from them. The...

    Deck of Many Things Replacement

I would reinforce what has been said above; namely, that while you certainly *can* replace the Deck of Many Things with something else, the deck really does play a central role in the adventure. * POSSIBLE SPOILERS BELOW * Much of the deck is scattered about randomly among the encounters and...
