    [B.A.D.D.] - Iconic dragons

My favorite dragons, actually, have so far been Moorcock's Melnibonean dragons. Dumb as stumps in most of the books (or at least, they don't -seem- very intelligent, it's not too clear), they sleep most of the time, and instead of breathing fire, they drip extremely caustic acidic venom that...

    [B.A.D.D.] - Iconic dragons

SPOILER for Bastion of Broken Souls Hello, I'm actually pretty anti-dragon.. I keep planning to do a campaign setting where they're more or less dumb magical beasts (very dangerous magical beasts, but more on the behir scale than the current dragon scale). No spells or anything like that...

    How do you envision bards?

Flouncing nancy-boys! Heh. I generally envision them as entertainers, and most published stuff seems to take the "entertainer/poet-type who is adventuring to gather material" tack.. I dunno. No one's played a bard in any of my campaigns in years. There's a bard NPC with one of my parties in...

DMs: how do you integrate familiars into the game?

No one's had a familiar in any of my campaigns for quite a while, actually.. most people seem to be afraid the little buggers'll die. It's not such a big deal, familiar-death, in 3rd edition.. but old habits die hard.

Post your picture! [Warning: big file sizes, might be unpleasant on slow connections]

Mastermind: Suspiciously familiar? Suspiciously, eh? You weren't that sleeping guy at Stofnun Arna Magnussonar, were you? Heh. As for the handle.. Why, I chose it after Skarphéðinn Njalsson, of course. Brennu-Njals Saga is one of the best, though I do tend to prefer Egils Saga...

[CRPGs] I have found the Nirvana of CRPGs!

Bah! Doreluka the Unvarnished will trump you all! A 19th level Eel-Man Ur-Paladin, he wields his mighty +1 pronged invisible bastard sword! When he can find it! And he hurls a pretty mean Tumor (benign) I spell, too. Heh, this game is hilarious. I can't wait to see how he does whilst I...

Uh.. No! No, no.. not at, uh, all! Heh. I did see a post from KidCthulhu earlier about driving past.. what was it? Contocook? I dunno, one of those towns in NH with the wacky names, en route to Vermont. But uh.. It's a big state! Yeah! Huge! I'm from Newport originally, but we live in...

    September 11th memories

I was at work. We listened to events on the radio for a bit, but that wasn't very satisfying and since everyone was upset and clearly wasn't going to do any actual -work- (can't blame us), the boss closed down the office and we left. Some of us went to his house and watched the news there for...

What would you change about your gaming group?

Heh! That's easy. I'd make 'em sober up a bit more and learn a bit more of the rules. Mine also tend to do the whole "sit until told what to do" bit, but they're not -totally- bad about it.. but many times, when they get to a non-combat/adventure setting, they just kind of sit there until...

Players playing 2 or more characters

Out of curiosity.. if people don't (at least occasionally) play more than one PC, what do you all do when Barry McPlayer can't make it to the session, and yet, Tharg of the Black Hand is right there in the dungeon with everyone else?

    Monte Haul Campaigns (long thread)

Well, I left out the boring junk. Plenty of +3 stuff.. something like 5 bags of holding, stuff like that. They've got a -ton- of stuff, but most of it is just the regular stuff from the DMG, but.. there's lots of it. But, yes -- they aren't as bad as was thinking.. stuff over-the-top, though.

Whats w/ class limitations for my gnome???

Oh lord, is that still on the net anywhere? That would have to be -really- funny.

    Monte Haul Campaigns (long thread)

Okay, it's late at night and I'm sick in the haid. I just got out my folder on this campaign, and lo and behold! Character sheets. BWAHAHA. My brother's fighter, Coye Stormlord, was 36th level but somehow only had a -6 AC. With his, ah, Stormsword +3, he seems to have a THAC0 of -22. Yep...

    Monte Haul Campaigns (long thread)

Actually, I think that's a lot of why all that monty haul stuff -was- so much fun.. there was a lot of roleplaying as well. I do remember roleplaying out Skald's relationship with Rani, his future wife.. there were a lot of squabbles and such in the group of guys that the DM ran, too.. there...

    Monte Haul Campaigns (long thread)

Hee hee! I once played in this campaign, in 2nd edition.. I started the campaign, I think it started at around 5th level. This other guy had created a set of characters based around an Elmore painting in the 1st printing of the 2nd edition of the PHB -- anyone else remember that group of guys...

Great - Now *I* Have a Paladin's moral dilemma - Sunless Citadel spoiler

I think your paladin has behaved pretty well, really. I mean, look at a cop. If you were a cop and you saw your buddy Joe waving around ... a sack fulla cocaine, or something.. you're not too likely to go tell your sergeant about it, or whatever.. you'll arrest him if he refuses to fork it...
