    Domain Spells

I use them as you've quoted. I also don't allow domain spells to be channelled into cure/inflict spells.

[Merged]3.5e Official DMG PrC List and Psion's "next trick" thread

I forget, is Greyhawk or Faerun the default setting? Hyuk. Seems to me that if they really wanted to maintain the idea that Greyhawk is the default setting, renaming a setting-specific prestige class would be a good step. Could leave everything the same and de-flavor it from the Forgotten...

Why would a DM want a copy of the players character sheet?

I do the same as Staffan -- always done it that way, and sheets have been lost and/or forgotten -so many- times that it became pointless to let the players hang on to the sheets. We'd never get to play any D&D that way :p

What is the most overused D&D term?

I voted for "Iconic", since it has no real use whereas "broken" can at least describe an opinion of something... but broken is really really old too.

Why so much attention on the Ranger?

Alchemist said: Dude, Grizzly Adams was a druid. You want ranger, maybe Mad Jack. He was kinda old, but he always seemed like he knew what he was doing out there in the wilderness.. retired ranger turned prospector or something maybe.

What books would you need to simulate Moorcock style magic?

Well, I haven't read either of these, so I don't know how well they do it, but Chaosium published two versions of a Moorcockian RPG, Elric! and Stormbringer. For all I know, they're almost identical, since as I say, I haven't examined them. They do, however, exist. I dunno how well you'd do...

    [OT Words] Skiddledee Bee Bop

Well, someone's got to mention it, so why not I? Antidisestablishmentarianism - n. - The belief system of those who are opposed to destruction of the current order. Specifically in usage, it refers to people who don't think the disestablishment of the Church of England is a good idea...

FLGS in Burlington, VT and Bromont, QC?

Alzrius, I believe they discontinued that several years ago.. they still honor the discount cards, but don't issue new ones. And HellHound, I dunno about the 80's so well, but they really got kind of unfriendly during the 90's - employees acted like it was an imposition to sell something, etc...

FLGS in Burlington, VT and Bromont, QC?

Hi Mapleaxe, Can't help you with respect to Bromont, but here in Burlington we've got Quarterstaff Games. The friendliness is kind of hit or miss, but it's a game store and they're willing to sell things ;) It's located toward the bottom of Church Street in Burlington, above Earth Prime...

    I Hate My Players.

Jeez, I wish "Killing the bad NPCs too easily" was all my players did. My group's currently suspended due to fighting, sadly. I wish they could go back to chopping up the villains, but nooooo.

    ECL +0 race

Ahh, that's a good point. I hadn't considered the half-orc at all, since there haven't been any in my campaign yet. I was using the elf as a semi-guideline when I looked at an example of an ECL +0 race, though I also looked at dwarves and gnomes. Still, the half-orc always did seem a bit...

    ECL +0 race

I was looking to make an ECL +0 version of the gnoll race for my campaign, and this is what I came up with. My question is: Does it seem reasonable as an ECL +0 race, and if not, what should I change about it to fix that? Racial Abilities: · +2 Strength, -2 Intelligence, -2 Charisma: Gnolls...

    LEGO WARGAMES at GenCon!

I don't want to seem nit-picky, but in The LEGO Company's defense, they're required to defend their trademarks or risk losing them to the public domain. That's the same reason they ask you (or used to ask you, I haven't see the little request lately) not to refer to the bricks as "legos" but...

    Yay! Bruce Campbell!

This is somewhat off-topic, but I thought it was funny: I went to a George Thorogood concert once, and some really annoying woman called up someone on her cell phone and was holding it up toward the stage when they were doing "You Talk Too Much". I forget how he got ahold of the phone, but she...

    Taking away the shame...of Roleplaying!

Hey Merlion, this is a bit off-topic and all, but at which GK did you work? I worked at PE26 in Arlington, VA from 97-98, so I'm just curious. On topic: I rarely tell anyone, mostly due to a desire to avoid long discussions about how I spend my free time.

[OT] Optimus Prime joins the National Guard

I used to work with a guy named DiksPit. (substitute an 'h' for the P, as above). Pronounced just as you'd think. He usually went by Ajay, however.

    Creation Myths and Pantheons

I've got a lot of ideas and such about cosmogony in my head, and haven't really written enough of it down yet.. it's a fairly straighforward system I think, somewhat of a variant on the dead god trope with a lot of deception and such thrown in. Rather than repost what I've written here, if you...

a gnome splats against the windshield, startling the mage, who nearly drops his cigarette

    :)

Oh, it's okay. The gnomes weren't too important, they were just there. The PCs were looking for something that was in gnome country, so hey. Gnomes. Farming their mushrooms, singing their songs, all that razzamatazz. No caps, though, saddened the masses.

    :)

Good old gnomes. Party met gnomes for the first time in the last two game sessions, kept asking 'em where their red caps were. Poor gnomes.
