What's the most expensive RPG product you've bought?

I haven’t bought any prepainted D&D minis in years. There are a few gaps in my collection, but overall I’m pretty happy with what I have now.

What's the most expensive RPG product you've bought?

It's probably for the best if I don't think too hard on how much I've spent on pre-painted D&D minis. I've got well over a thousand of the pre-painted minis from the D&D line that ended in 2010. Thankfully they still get used every session (and my youngest has a ball playing with as well), so...

What's the most expensive RPG product you've bought?

It depends if you're only counting single items, or multiple-item Kickstarters. For example, I backed the Feng Shui 2, Paranoia and Horror on the Orient Express Kickstarters. All of those cost over $200, but it got you several rulebooks and other additional items, not just a single rulebook...

Crowdfunding News – Terra Oblivion, Ngolo Diaspora, and more

Provided the artwork being used is owned by Philip Reed, I'm not bothered by him reusing artwork for a PDF that I'm paying $1 for. It's tremendous value at that price with no artwork at all.

    RIP Jim Holloway

Paranoia artwork and Jim Holloway artwork will always just be synonymous for me. As soon as someone mentions his name I can't think of anything other than his awesome Paranoia work.

Owen KC Stephens' Tabletop RPG Truths #2

Even worse is when you have a manager that doesn’t even want to be a manager. It was just that was a part of the promotion. So they end up leaving you to manage yourself (and don’t back you to higher management).

Owen KC Stephens' Tabletop RPG Truths

Teacher pay rates in Australia aren’t that bad. In my state (South Australia) teachers earn $68k (compared to the average full time Australian salary of $82k). That goes up each year until they reach about $90k after 7 years experience. So most teachers earn above average pay. To earn more than...

Owen KC Stephens' Tabletop RPG Truths

I was also shocked that so many people backed that Kickstarter. Anyone who had the slightest knowledge of Palladium and Kevin should not have touched the Kickstarter with a 500ft pole. It ended exactly how I expected it to.

He’s shameless in that regard. I am amazed that Palladium fans keep believing the tales he weaves over and over again.

Owen KC Stephens' Tabletop RPG Truths

I’ve never got a death threat for simply doing my job (especially given some of the stupid reasons for those threats). That, combined with low pay, would probably be enough to get me looking at another industry.

RPG Crowdfunding News – Book of Fiends, Mineralogy Manual, Exalted Vales, and more

Hmmm, maybe it is Pathfinder-based rather than system-neutral. That’s a bit disappointing with The Lost Citadel. The last Green Ronin project I back was the 5E update of the Book of the Righteous which, from memory, went very smoothly.

RPG Crowdfunding News – Book of Fiends, Mineralogy Manual, Exalted Vales, and more

What was the fiasco with Lost Citadel? Also, didn’t they put out a big system-neutral Freeport book a couple of years ago?

WotC Ray Winninger Is Head of D&D RPG Team; Mike Mearls No Longer Works on RPG

You can either put some effort into finding stuff out yourself, or you choose not to. I'm fine with either option, but I've reached my maximum effort level on this.

WotC Ray Winninger Is Head of D&D RPG Team; Mike Mearls No Longer Works on RPG

Yeah, in regards to Mearls design work, I'm a fan too. I also felt like this wasn't a situation he was trying to cover up. I think he was trying to find out the truth of what had occurred, but the way he handled this situation from start to finish was terrible. The non-apology at the end of it...

WotC Ray Winninger Is Head of D&D RPG Team; Mike Mearls No Longer Works on RPG

The best I could see in the Twitter thread is from Jacob "Gnome" Randolph accusing Mearls of doing that with the emails of one of his co-authors. I've spent enough time going back down the rabbit hole again, so I'm not going to spend any more time looking. Ultimately who you choose to believe is...

WotC Ray Winninger Is Head of D&D RPG Team; Mike Mearls No Longer Works on RPG

Not too far down the Twitter thread is a reply from Jacob “Gnome” Randolph about it that makes a lot of accusations. It’s not evidence per se, but I’m not sure you’re going to find any direct evidence on the internet for this. It’s going to be “he said, she said” and you’ll just need to make...

WotC Ray Winninger Is Head of D&D RPG Team; Mike Mearls No Longer Works on RPG

Ok, not what I'd call hard proof, but so far my searching has turned up this Twitter thread where several people replying to Mearls tweet accusing Mearls directly of sharing their emails detailing Zak S's harassment of them with Zak S himself -

WotC Ray Winninger Is Head of D&D RPG Team; Mike Mearls No Longer Works on RPG

I don’t think so. They were posted as articles on the WotC website several iterations ago, so maybe if you use the Wayback Machine you might find them.

WotC Ray Winninger Is Head of D&D RPG Team; Mike Mearls No Longer Works on RPG

I’ll try and find what I read back when this first came out. From memory finding info involved diving down several rabbit holes, so it may take me a bit of digging.
