What would WotC need to do to win back the disenchanted?

If you're looking for specifics, you'll need to ask someone like Dannyalcatraz. I know about as much about marketing as I do about nuclear fission. But it certainly can be done ... I was a former player (I quit 2E in disgust back around '91 or '92) and the marketing for 3E hooked me and hooked...

What would WotC need to do to win back the disenchanted?

Already had that discussion. May have gone past the limits of your attention span, I suppose. See the moderator warning on the next page, please.

What would WotC need to do to win back the disenchanted?

First, it's "hearsay." I'm not being a spelling nazi, it's just that as a lawyer seeing that so often misspelled is hurting my brain. Second, in any context other than a court of law, reliable hearsay is fantastic evidence. Everybody in the world relies on it constantly. Society could, in...

    Wed 4-8pm and Thu 1-5pm - Piratecat's Mutants & Masterminds (open)

I'd love to get in on the Thursday, 1p to 5p game! (I have a ticket to a Buffy game, but they'll live without me. Or be turned into vampires. Whatever.)

WHat are the best books/items ever for D&D? :)

Aside from the 3.5 core rules, I have to say the minis are my favorite D&D branded products ever. (Speaking generally. The line had ups and downs, but IMO spent (spends, I guess; I like the Orcus piece) the majority of the time in the "up" cycle.)

What could a publisher sell you RIGHT NOW/

M&M seems to be working really well for me. Thus far in my game, they've encountered a world-wide conspiracy supposedly headed up by a mysterious man-bull, genetic manipulation, extra-dimensional magic (and followed it back through a faerie ring to take on Queen Mab), street-level crime (well...

What would WotC need to do to win back the disenchanted?

Let me get this straight. You're calling him a liar if he can't give you specific names? Really? This happened to me, too. GenCon, two years ago, my buddy and I sat down for a demo of 4E, wanting to play it before passing judgment on it. The two guys running the demo were disengaged...

What could a publisher sell you RIGHT NOW/

Paizo comes fairly close to this on their Flip-Mats. (Although too many of them have blank grids on the reverse.)

What could a publisher sell you RIGHT NOW/

Adventure outlines for M&M. One outline per page. Layout would show, paragraph to paragraph, ways that PCs can progress through the adventure. I work (more than) full time, so even though I'm a creative guy with 28 years of comic book fandom to draw on, sometimes I'd really appreciate the...

What Makes Gaming Books as PDFs Desirable?

I have an excellent 3.5 SRD installed on my Palm Pre (and my Palm Centro) before that. It's not perfect, but it beats the absolute crap out of PDFs on either device.

How were you introduced to RPGs?

My mom's best friend's boyfriend drove my school bus. He found a coverless copy of the D&D Expert rulebook and gave it to me. I inferred the underpinnings (that were in the Basic rulebook) and off I went. Until I received the Basic set that Christmas, none of my dungeons had dragons or even...

Anyone else not get their Gencon badge?

Isn't the default nowadays "Will Call"? I haven't received my badge or tickets yet, and neither has my housemate. We've been Will Call for years now. You may have changed the default, while your wife didn't. Or perhaps there was a glitch one way or the other.

Goodwill has value. (Seriously, actual monetary value.)

The voting booths are now open and Dream Dates are a go!

It'd be nice if ENnie voting could be made sticky. I've tried twice and gotten the fail-page both times. I'd just as soon wait until traffic dies down to try again, but if the thread's not sticky I might forget.

Ah, yes, the dreaded Teabag Ooze.

What would WotC need to do to win back the disenchanted?

Speaking for myself, I bought everything. I actually created a lengthy thread a while back asking why WotC "fired" me as a customer. The idea of going back to that level of completism leaves me ... conflicted.

What Makes Gaming Books as PDFs Desirable?

A dynamically reflowing format for game books would be awesome. This would make it possible to have a comfortable read or reference on any device -- even one as small as a smart-phone. PDF -- a format specifically designed to maintain pagination (and thus unform printing) across platforms-- is...

[SF Bay Area] Seeking M&M player ...

I'm looking for a M&M (2E) player to join a group of four heroes and the GM (me). I'm kind of a dick, but my players are truly great guys. The game is at my home in Daly City on every other Sunday from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. (This Sunday, 7/18, is an "on" session.) I'm looking for an...

Soon to be mostly taking a break from D&D

If I ever run a Serenity game, I'll be using Space d6. It's a perfect fit. (I believe the PDFs are available for free somewhere. Legally.)

    Do you pull the chain?

Because in an unknown environment in which things and situations have proven dangerous, it's wise to consider the possibility that a new thing and a new situation might prove dangerous? Are you kidding me? In a world in which magic exists (and can be disguised), and traps exist that are all...
