Unearthed Arcana Revived, Noble Genie and Archivist Revisited in UA

This playtesting is almost certainly for a book this November. Like how we were playtesting/ giving feedback on sublcasses in 2017 for Xanathar's Guide. It's probably to late to get a full psionic class out for this winter. Especially as their previous 2-3 attempts weren't well received...

Unearthed Arcana Revived, Noble Genie and Archivist Revisited in UA

Phantom Rogue. Okay, the flavour here is much better, as you haven't returned from the dead (which was weird for a subclass, and made for an odd decision three levels into play). And I love the Tokens of the Departed ribbon. That's ridiculously fun. Genie Warlock. It might be nice not to...

Pathfinder 2E Pathfinder 2e: Actual Play Experience

There are typically time constraints. All the AP authors are generally working on their part at the same time, so you don’t know what equipment or treasure the PCs will have. The assigned freelancer is given an outline and plots out the major encounters and then submits that for evaluation...

D&D 5E (2014) The case for (and against) a new Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting book

I’ll give you the best official D&D book ever created... but there’s some stuff competition for best D&D book when you add 3rd Party stuff...

D&D 5E (2014) The case for (and against) a new Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting book

I think the biggest reason is that we already got one, that pretty much contained as much setting information as the Ravnica and Eberron books and only lacked an adventure and monsters away from matching their page count.

D&D General VTT that supports a pen?

There's a number of posts on the Roll20 forum about using a Wacom tablet with that system. It just requires a little set-up.

    D&D 4E The True Swordmage

Sure. It could be the "spellsword" class with the swordmage as one of its subclasses. But every time I had a similar conversation about the warlord and updating it to 4e I was hit by a dozen comments about how it simply had to do everything it did in 4e. So I'm assuming the same constriction...

    D&D 4E The True Swordmage

Updating 4e classes is tricky because they have 1-2 things that are assumed and everything else is a power soup of optional powers. Three people couple play swordmages and have entirely different ideas of what the class should do. Warding. Boosting AC via magic. This could be adding your...

    D&D 4E The True Swordmage

Not... really. It's a generic swordmage but it's not something that could fill the role of a dozen sword-and-magic users seen in literature. It doesn't fit effortlessly into existing campaign settings with established fighter-mages being retconned into the class. It isn't a largely blank slate...

D&D 5E (2014) Who Would Dominate the Multiverse?

I always have trouble reconciling the badass reputation of aboleths with their status as mid-CR monsters...

    D&D 4E The True Swordmage

The gish class, yes. Which has been seen before as the spellsword. Or even the eldritch/ magic knight. And you can do something pretty similar by mixing the ED and the wizard in a 3:1 ration, which is basically a 1/2-level caster like the paladin. But the swordmage was really a 4e invention...

    D&D 4E The True Swordmage

The swordmage is funky. Like most of the 4e role/ power source classes invented for that edition it was not particularly generic. It's almost better suited as a release in a campaign setting than a general book. Ditto the runepriest, seeker, battlemind, and the like. It's something that can...

D&D 5E (2014) Would you let your player choose their magic items they get?

Yeah, looking for specific items can easily be handled through personal quests. The occasional requested or perfect item is nice treat. But that shouldn't be expected.

D&D 5E (2014) Would you let your player choose their magic items they get?

Having run a lot of 3e/PF and a fair amount of 4e I had a lot of experience with crafting and players picking their own magic items. With every magic item being chosen by exhaustively searching the rules and either purchased at a magic store, made to order, or crafted by a PC. Especially in...

D&D General Dungeons & Dragons Gets a My Little Pony Crossover

It has been a long time coming... Unless you count the dice from HasCon. And the t-shirt they did for charity. And the comic where Shining Armor plays D&D. And the episode of the TV show where Spike and Mig Mac's D&D game is crashed by Discord.

    Doing more with damage types

I've always thought "force" should just be a keyword or descriptor, and replaced by B/P/S. A magic missile could be piercing damage of magical force while Mordenkainen's sword is slashing damage of magical force.

Roll20's Latest Report Shows Growth Everywhere!

It could also be from people who want to play PF2 but whose in person games are still PF1 or 5e. Or who can't find a game in real life. I know I went to Roll20 to play Star Trek Adventures because I wanted to play that game but finding a meat space group was unlikely. Or it could easily have...

D&D 5E (2014) Who Would Dominate the Multiverse?

Okay, the big question is "when the gods leave, does it include the godlike beings such as archefey and demon princes?" Because if Asmodeus goes but not Orcus or Demogorgon, the demons have a significant advantage, and very well might "win". Especially as they retain their leadership while all...

    D&D 5E (2014) D&D Mythic Odysseys of Theros Previews!

If it's seperated like the other DnD books, yes. You can get the backgrounds, subclasses, magic items, monsters, races, and spells of Ravnica separately. Monsters there are $10.99 but the full book is $29.99. However, if you buy the monsters and decide to pick-up the full book, it will be...
