Wild shape doesn't change the character's type. They're still humanoids, and can thus get lycanthropy. I don't believe any of the PF shapeshiftijg effects actually change the subject's type mechanically.

If you want a healer shaman-type, you might consider an oracle. Life oracles can be powerful healers, and some of the other mysteries can feel shaman-ish.

Most creature abilities are at a fairly high CL. It would often help monsters with lots of special magical attacks. Obviously caster stats would decrease in importance. Multiclassing would suffer in 3.x-style games for casters even more than it already does.
