    Warden AC Gimped Defender ?

Wardens are designed to be more spoungey imo. They get utilities to get more Second Winds and do significant self-healing, they get perks for using Second Wind, and their forms often give defense bonuses too. They are built to have a lower basic AC but more ways to recover or boost themselves.

Affects of Pushing - how do the rules on this actually work ??

Point 1) You have this right. Point 2) No effect for being pushed into a wall, save the push has to stop if blocking terrain prevents more push. Point 3) Push 3 or Push 7 would be the same in terms of the "strength" of push, i.e. No penalties on the ST. The only diffenece is that of the ST is...

Close Burst 1 - when is it not a close burst ??

I decided to look at this power and think about how it would work. Lets assume that it is targeting 3 mobs, 1 granting combat advantage. What happened?: IC "I reach into a puch on my belt and grab up a handful of caltrops/shrapnal as well as my dagger. I note one of the guys near me is off...

Close Burst 1 - when is it not a close burst ??

I have never liked this approach myself. "Too gamey" is just another way of saying, "I don't get how that works". And that just means it is freaky. All magic is too gamey if you insist on real world physics, all uber combat is too unrealistic too. YMMV but I generally look at a power that...

Question on Immortal Resilience (Gods making saving throws)

True on Staff Of Defence (I forgot it was an II for a sec), but what if you had a free action/no action eqiuvalent? (That was more the issue I was wondering about) Can the same power respond to a single trigger twice? If so, then Lolth may well be able to keep saving until she passes, as...

Question on Immortal Resilience (Gods making saving throws)

As an aside to the main issue of this thread (but mentioned here as this power inspired the question): Is Dieing "an effect a save can end"? A Death Saving Throw can allow someone to spend a surge, thus ending the Dieing condition. In the case of monsters it is moot, as they go from healthy...

Question on Immortal Resilience (Gods making saving throws)

Yeah, I am pretty sure Corwyn77 is right. You are only subjected to the effect once (when it first occurs). After that you are subject to the effect (and its consequences), but not subjectted to it. Though, is there a rule that says you can't respond to the same trigger multiple times with the...

    D&D 4E Harry Potter 4E

Love this idea, but I would change it somewhat (though both versions will basically keep peeps from using it in combat 90% of the time). Apperating is a Move Action requiring a Medium DC Arcana check at all times (They should all have Arcana trained). Fail = Splinch = Dazed + 1d6/tier damage...

Can you slide or push an enemy into a square you cant see ???????

True, but LoE is always drawn from the "Origin Square" of a power (as is any forced movement), so basic "LoE is needed" means the origin square needs LoE not you, necessarily. So a burst/blast can knock someone around a corner if the origin square is positioned such that it has LoE around the...

    D&D 4E Harry Potter 4E

I would set it after the books (so any knowledge from the books is valid but not up to date) and have them maybe trying to track some of the last DeathEaters that escaped after the Battle Of Hogwarts. They can be getting rumours of activity in Sherwood Forest and local muggles are atesting it to...

Can you slide or push an enemy into a square you cant see ???????

Forced movement can go to somewhere you can't see but not somewhere you have no Line Of Effect too. (Ref: Rules Compendium, Pg 211-213: Forced Movement). So being blind or pushing into darkness is no problem, but pushing (or pulling or sliding) around corners or around pillars is no go.

    D&D 4E My 4e House Rules - Yours?

Wouldn't this make good II/IR Encounters too good? You use an At-Will Standard and an II/IR encounter every round (if you can) until you run out of Encounters and then you sacrifice a chance to use an At-Will to gain the ability to do an Encounter (and this assumes you haven't killed everything...

    D&D 4E My 4e House Rules - Yours?

House Rules: 1) Critical Fumbles = Lose any Minor/Move/Standard actions left in your turn after this action ends. ActionPoints can still regain you a second Standard Action tho. This realy makes peeps think about the order they do things in (Heal and Sustain get done first more, but it gets...

Playing a halfling, want to be more mean than normal. How do I go about this?

Quoted for truth. Our party had an evil guy (ex-rogue guild leader, now on the run) who decided to sell his help to the "mission" we were assembled for, in return for safety after we were done. He was a right gowt, but he supported the party as best as he could without risking his neck too...

Can I make multiple extra melee attacks with one crit?

But they come from Item X and Feat Y so nothing in the rules says they can't both occur. Unless they hit a "stated" stacking issue (like one "free action attack per turn") they are fine to both occur - it has no effect that the trigger was the same event for both of them. It is the same as...

Storm Sorcerer: Need a DM's Judgement

Yes you get it on both bits. The '1d6 fire damage' is a "damage roll" and it is caused by an arcane power. So the Storm Power comes into play and you get a bonus to the damage. You also get to add any enhancement bonus you have on your implement (assuming this power has the Implement keyword)...

    Gaining action points

You gain an Action Point everytime you complete a milestone (every 2 encounters without an extended rest) regardless of when (or even if) you spent your last Action Point. In the campaign I play in our healer regularly saves his Action Point for the first 2 Encounters a day (if we are doing...

    Magic Thieves' Tools

Enchant Item Riutal only makes magic items officially stated as items in the game - it doesn't randomly give bonuses to items (by RAW). You could invent a custom magic item, that the EI ritual would then be able to make. Skill enhancing items generally give an item bonus to a skill at a...

How to kill a troll - need answer now as in game

I don't think there is any "absolutely official RAW" reason this would work, but it is fair to justify it as follows. You light the troll on fire while it is down and shift backwards to avoid burning (fair for this "light and move" to be a Standard Action, "improvised attack" imo) the effect of...

Fighter - enemy makes ranged attack while adjacent ?? - OA and II ??

Yes. The use of an OA is completely independent of the use of an II so you get both. I suggest you take the OA first, so you can save the II (you only get to do one per round, as opposed to OA which are per turn) if the OA gets lucky and kills the enemy.
