    The new point-buy?

Somehow I missed this very important phrase... with that in mind I'll go update my conjectures.

    The new point-buy?

I too like it. I went and crunched the dragonborn pally and dwarf fighter from KotS (not that I think they're perfect, but whatever). Assuming the dwarf gets +2 con and wis, and the dborn gets +2 Str and Cha, I took those out first. assuming their lowest stats started at 8, they're both 26 point...

    Question on the KoS Characters

Well, the FAQ offers no help on the matter. I'm hoping a WotC employee will float in with enigmatic words of wisdom that address the issue... 'cause whenever they do that it's pretty co...err... rad.

    The 15 Minute Dungeon Master?

That's it! Thank you! All I could think of was a scent that made people laugh.

    Question on the KoS Characters

If the Longsword is +3 Prof, then the ranger from DDXP is incorrect, because his Str (14 +2) with a longsword is a total +4 to hit implying a +2 prof from the longsword. Sooo... what am I missing?

    A Possibly Brilliant Strategy?

It's a risky plan, but legit. I would think the skeleton (regardless of INT) would consider the backlash damage worth risking the first one to three times, but after that it would feel like there was too much risk for the reward. Mmmmm... risky plans taste like breakfast.

Hiding the PHB from players - Cool or Restrictive?

I'd say let them see the PHB. The only time I've told players not to look at a rulebook was once when I was running a H:tR game and I didn't want the PCs to know all about the imbuement and jazz. That said, you could say something like, "Before you look at the PHB, let's talk about what you want...

Aim, fireball, attack rather than save... Need for help !

I thought I saw somewhere that wizards could get a feat to control the aoe such that it didn't hit allies. If you want to roll once, assume a hit is a miss on allies (Half damage) and a miss is a total miss (no damage). Will that work for the house rule?

    Striker, Defender, Leader, Controller Dynamic

Good question... I think we say, "Well, we'll have ________ and we should get ________." But, I don't think it's really affecting us too much. Granted, it's useful for giving a guideline on how to play a character... which is groovy. Edit: ...upon reconsideration, I think the roles are being...

    Keep on the Shadowfell gameplay.

I'll subvert your euphemism, puppet kermit! no really, I do want to hear more about what was great and what was weak.

    Keep on the Shadowfell gameplay.

Sounds good. I'm not a fan of premade adventures, but I'm glad it was fun. Kobold puppet?

    Interesting experience playing KotS

I've tried to explain it, but let me try again... the PCs are bottled into a small area while the kobolds are massed in a wider area. Thus, the kobolds can focus on one PC (the cleric who got caught in that position in the ambush I ran), while the PCs can only get a decent shot at one kobold at...

D&D 4E 4E PHB Viewing at Games Plus, what we saw

Awesome things. I hope, but doubt, you'll find things about 0 level. Thanks, I hadn't read. That puts my mind at ease.

    Interesting experience playing KotS

Hey man, nothing wrong with being just a guy. That is a fair statement/question. Let me put it this way, all goblins have a certain features/powers that make them unique in combat. They can shift away from enemies who missed them. Kobolds can shift as a minor action, so they can move forward...

    New "confessions" article

I can't help but somehow imagine that she is your wife. Even if it isn't true... the conversation in my head is amazing. Especially because in my mind you're looking like your avatar. BTW, no offense meant (This is the internet), it's just really funny in my mind.

    D&D 4E Flow and 4e.

I think you may be right. Pleasure being anything enjoyed, so even selfless acts are in a way some pleasure... even if one sacrifices their life, it is because the person is aware of some greater gain. I still think it is a very noble thing. So, Wizards' Rules. Has anyone else ever thought...

    Interesting experience playing KotS

Awesome, I'm glad the experience went well. What I really dig about 4e, way more than 3.x, is that monsters feel very different. It is not just cosmetic differences, but... they are entirely different creatures. I've thrown one group of kobolds at PCs in a series of pre-4e games and they hated...
