    Excerpt: Weapons (MERGE)

I agree. I feel like the post was filled with tiny goodies. I would've liked an example of more stuff... but it's enough to make me hopeful. I'm hoping that there's a feat that allows con to be used towards axe/hammer types. The whole... double grouping thing is really sweet. I also like that...

    I like that.

    New Monster Swordwing!

Ehh... it's kinda' cool. It's a somewhat sticky-anti-shift enemy. They could make pretty sweet enemies in swarms. This popped up again... (crit 2d6 + 21) Which is basically normal damage + normal crit damage. Any idea if PCs will be able to do something in league with this? I'm guessing (if it...

    D&D 4E Yet another 4E demo experience

I'm agreeing with you that running monsters in 4e is a lot more fun. But, I also think being a PC in 4e is a lot more fun. ...would this simply mean that the game is more fun? *Emphasis in quote, my doing.

    D&D 4E Yet another 4E demo experience

That is an excellent counter-argument. Guess I'll have to work something else out...

    D&D 4E 4e last night... (A few pre-4e experiences)

Hahaha... I don't think so. I don't really have that many. I adapted VBMew to Ken'Sildra Vecundar - an Eladrin wizard who is trying to collect information about the world in its current dark age. Something like a bard-type loremaster figure, but really hasn't come into game. Verys Argul Arkon is...

    D&D 4E Yet another 4E demo experience

Crits do seem underwhelming, but not as sad as rolling to confirm crit and it not working. I'm thinking of having them do Full damage +Level.... or something along those lines. Any thoughts?

PLayer's pre-opinions more important than quality of system

What about playing some sessions w/ pro-4es and open-minded people, and then playing it with that group +naysayers? Has anyone tried that combination?

    D&D 4E 4e last night... (A few pre-4e experiences)

This is multiple reviews in one! So, about two weeks ago I went and played a 4e demo. It was fun, but the dm didn't really know the rules and only two other people showed up to play. It's somewhere back-logged in the threads. So, last night I convinced two friends to go and check out D&D 4e (I...

    Another playtest report

I think shifty in bottleneck positions has some pretty great potential. The PCs can only ever get to one Kobold at a time, but they can keep attacking and then shifting into a wide space. ...I'm not sure if that explanation worked... but I hope it did. I love the description of your goblin...

    Excerpt: Multiclassing (merged)

Thanks, that does interest me greatly. I had a, "Ahhh!" moment. Feats are said to be the method to add depth, breadth, or a little bit of both... and that seems to very strongly support that concept. Excellent point. It makes my small fears less afraid, and my hopes a little bit bigger.

Good read, and good English all around. Thanks for the review.

    D&D 4E 4E Liker - anything you worry about?

Thanks! I'm glad to hear that's the word on the street. I don't want Roy to come back, use cleave, and then comment on it being a level one at-will power instead of a feat. XD

    Excerpt: Multiclassing (merged)

I agree with most things that you said. A multiclass should not be as good as the main class in doing the things that they do (A fighter who sticks to melee focused feats will rock something fierce melee-style as opposed to a gish who can fight and cast). If there are feats that expand the...

    Excerpt: Multiclassing (merged)

I take it you're pointing out that the ranger could take the power-swap feats. Yes, that would be a viable solution in the long run, but it may not be what the ranger/warlord wants at level 1 to the point of an oddly absurd degree. However, I'm not entirely sure what flaw you're trying to point...

    Excerpt: Multiclassing (merged)

I hope you're right, but it does not currently state that. If it's true, then yeah... rogue training is pretty nice.
