Where do we stand on Harry Potter?

I think you should allow free speech and not have a party line.

How to deal with a "true roleplayer".

OP is a player. Absolutely the other PCs should not allow this fellow's annoying useless PCs in the group. It's what their characters would do.

How to deal with a "true roleplayer".

Running 1e I give only humans the Mature Adult age bonuses of +1 STR +1 CON. Humans are bigger than the demi-humans, making them relatively strong and tough.

WotC What is the last WotC adventure you played in or DM'd?

Before Xmas I was doing a Phandelver/Icefang Peak mashup. The Icefang Peak mini adventures were quite good I thought. Still not enjoying Phandelver much, & I've tried to GM it at least three times now sigh. Other people say they like it but it's never worked for me, it always goes off the rails.

    D&D General Mixed Level Party

Groups - I have a lot of players, this is just my Faerun campaign. There are 3 Wilderlands PC groups too, but only one is running currently. 1. The Barrowmazers 1. Moxy (Claire) female Tiefling Bard 10, College of Swords 2. Mac (Matt) male Half Elf level 9 Vengeance Paladin 6/Fighter 3 3. Liam...

    D&D General Mixed Level Party

Yeah, level 5 is definitely a big break point, level 11 much less so though IME. I have one campaign with three active PC groups, PCs can switch between groups, the highest level PC is 10th (thanks to a Comet card from Deck of Many Things) so new PCs come in at 5th level. The current level...

How to deal with a "true roleplayer".

I'm not totally against a player playing some kind of incompetent comedy sidekick PC, but honestly given his OOC statements he seems utterly toxic to me. He either needs serious discipline from the group, or to leave the group.

    D&D 5E (2014) About Morally Correct Outcomes in D&D Adventures [+]

I like video games, and RPGs, where you get to make moral choices. This requires some degree of inherent moral ambiguity, Stormcloak v Imperial perhaps, not Alduin vs World Not Ending. To do well it requires some degree of moral maturity from the writers. "What if every WoTC 5E adventure...

    D&D General Mixed Level Party

I have 5e characters come in at half the level of the highest level PC. Works great in 5e (in fact I think it's necessary for the kind of long term sandbox play I like), I wouldn't do it in 3e or 4e. 3e just has too steep a power gradient. 4e every level is effectively +1 to every d20 roll, so...

    Anyone else backed Dragonbane?

First game today! Players happy, some said they preferred it to 5e - and it should get even better after teething troubles. We did have a PC death - Trystan the Bard (seen here at the back during attack on goblin camp) repeatedly shot by goblin arrows while playing his flute. He was on 0 hp and...

Game in less than 4 hours! I'm quite nervous.

D&D General Are you jumping ship? What will you be switching to?

Dragonbane. First game in 4 hours!

Kyle Brink (D&D Exec Producer) On OGL Controversy & One D&D (Summary)

It wasn't Pundit's idea, but he was definitely happy with the outrage & attention it garnered.

Kyle Brink (D&D Exec Producer) On OGL Controversy & One D&D (Summary)

Guess I must be pretty egregious. :uhoh: It is far better here than TBP of course. I had to stop going there. I remember one I didn't see coming was a temporary ban for 'insulting veterans' - I'd said something negative about the Vietnam War.

Kyle Brink (D&D Exec Producer) On OGL Controversy & One D&D (Summary)

The primary intent is to warn Red Blooded Americans away from 'woke' companies, yes. I'm saying you definitely can't guarantee a company is woke from it being in the red list, and you can't guarantee it isn't woke from it being in the green list. The descriptions may be more useful, but even...

Kyle Brink (D&D Exec Producer) On OGL Controversy & One D&D (Summary)

While I do personally find Gillespie rather obnoxious (according to a Barrowmaze reviewer, he makes his students buy copies of his game books to pass his college course! And he was mean to me on Facebook! ) I very much doubt anything by him & similar writers would ever trigger WoTC's...

Kyle Brink (D&D Exec Producer) On OGL Controversy & One D&D (Summary)

Just to be clear, there are plenty of inoffensive companies on the green list who probably share many opinions with those on red, they just haven't expressed them, or not in a way that gets them in red. The list is also highly erratic of course, AFAICT Kobold Press went on red because one guy...

Kyle Brink (D&D Exec Producer) On OGL Controversy & One D&D (Summary)

I definitely think WoTC's purported fear of Disney & Meta taking advantage of the OGL was irrational, and probably indicative of a bunker mentality.

Kyle Brink (D&D Exec Producer) On OGL Controversy & One D&D (Summary)

Not only does the list not require sexism or racism for 'green' status, extreme racism (& presumably sexism) will get you put on the red list. There are at least two examples in red there, Vikernes and Bledsaw Jnr.
