    D&D 5E (2014) Any word on (Full) 5e PDFs?

Either that, or PDFs will come later and Dungeonscape is not the new DDI. Is isn't like anyone here has sources for that info, right?

    D&D 5E (2014) Has Anybody Heard...

I have considered doing some reverse engineering to see how it lines out. I already have all the Basic info as data so it wouldn't be too tough to see if there was a formula in use behind the scenes.

D&D 5E (2014) Inappropriate breasts on female monsters

Is always, or could sometimes be? And what is more 'jerkish', boobs on dragonborn or armchair debates on feminism? I am certainly no expert on the topic, and I haven't seen anyone here claim otherwise. Point being, culture is a thing. It's a huge, monstrous thing that typically changes slowly...

    D&D 5E (2014) Any word on (Full) 5e PDFs?

It occurs to me his focus on your use of the word 'big' overlooked your point entirely. The fact they behave as a corporation (as opposed to a company that happens to be incorporated) is enough to drive the point. You don't need to be 'big' to make decisions by comittee, for example.

    D&D 5E (2014) Any word on (Full) 5e PDFs?

I'm the guy who burned all my Napster files, but I do have my limits. And note that (for my own use) scanning my PHB is legitimate fair use. I bought the book and I am entitled to consume it. Whether I use my own sheetfed scanner or a file generated by someone else seems to bear little moral...

D&D 5E (2014) Inappropriate breasts on female monsters

While you're certainly correct that there is room for debate on whether the whole of all media everywhere influences culture, I am referring only to D&D. Whatever you believe, it is not big enough to change the inertia of human sexuality, and II hope it never becomes such.

    D&D 5E (2014) D&D 5e death and consequences?

"Some" people some of the time. Again rerolls are a factor and power creep significantly drives that. Games with less splat or less splat-induced power creep would see more resurrection spells getting used. Think RIFTS, if you've played that. I can't recall a time where anyone even asked...

D&D 5E (2014) Inappropriate breasts on female monsters

I still cannot accept the premise that D&D shapes culture when the opposite is so clearly obvious. But without that premise, wherein lies the problem with sexism or the lack of sexism? Could one not just settle for the fact that dragonkin breasts are no more or less sexist than their target...

    D&D 5E (2014) Any word on (Full) 5e PDFs?

You can pretty easily bridge the two statements as: They are creating a situation where only an unreasonable person wouldn't prefer piracy. But I am not, repeat NOT going to pay $5 a month for just the phb for years on end. I said willing to pay, but not through the nose.

    D&D 5E (2014) Any word on (Full) 5e PDFs?

As a point of fact, WotC does sell 5e PDFs on dndclassics.com, along with other edition materials. So they should have the data. They should also know what their piracy rates look like, vs purchases, assuming they wanted to go look.

D&D 5E (2014) Inappropriate breasts on female monsters

Gamers often forget that the game is intended for use by modern humans, and so the norms of the time outweigh a lot of other factors. What good is your biologically accurate game if nobody buys it? Remember the quote where WotC said they tested it with focus groups? That's the /thread, right...

    D&D 5E (2014) Anti-magic field and monster abilities

I'm not sure that's so clear. It's akin to claiming that creatures who can cast silence no longer need verbal components.

    D&D 5E (2014) Any word on (Full) 5e PDFs?

    1) The Basic PDFs are incomplete, so (obviously) they're not so great for searching unless they happen to contain the answer. They're missing something from just about every section of the game. 2) I am willing to pay, so I don't care about 'free'. 3) I agree, they're smart, but they're just...

    D&D 5E (2014) DungeonScape Beta Gloat Thread

I had heard of Morningstar, but didn't connect the two. Also I didn't know it was intended to be an alternative for digital books. So it may be undermarketed. I too wonder about cost. "Not yet finalized" can mean a lot of different things...

D&D 5E (2014) Raise your hand if your mom...

Mom got us the Red Box for Christmas in 84. I did have a friend's parents bar him from speaking to me ever again over D&D though. As an aside, Dark Dungeons is on YouTube. The wife, boy, and I watched it last night. Good for some laughs...

I think kids today innately understand version churn, thanks to their exposure to technology.

what do you think about this decision I made?

Ultimately I think the decision was justified. But I do think I would have talked to him first, and probably wouldn't have delivered the news by text message. At the end of the game, hopefully we're all still friends...

It seems he's reiterating your points back at Mr Fixit.

    D&D 5E (2014) Any word on (Full) 5e PDFs?

Clearly Basic PDFs are part of the plan. We've seen that. But what about "Full" PDFs? Any word on those? It would be nice to have a physical copy for the table and a digital copy for when I am out and about, or when I want to do a search. Anyone heard anything lately?
