Please note that I have yet to voice any of my concerns in character.

    Evil Church Ideas

There is of course the classic premise for worshipping an evil religion openly. That's fear! Worshippers pray to be spared from the impending doom of the less faithful populace. Their only reward for worship is a swift death sentence to an endless void rather than the more common fate of...

[Game Closed] Dead of Winter: DnD3e-CoC Game in the Forgotten Realms (IC Forum)

Without an arcanist I'm willing to start without an arcane spellcaster. People rely too much on magic to achieve their ends.

    Academy of Drell, Part IV

Sudden realization! Arana begins to back out of the tunnel, past the others. She pays special attention to try to assess whether or not the tunnel is growing in size as she moves along. As implausible as it seems, I postulate that the tunnel has been slowly shrinking us the whole time as we...

[Game Closed] Dead of Winter: DnD3e-CoC Game in the Forgotten Realms (IC Forum)

Alas, you were right about the language thing. But I would never buy it. What's the point of having different regional languages at all? In a society where the whole world can share a language, why bother learning anything else? It's plainly a ridiculous presumption on the designers' part to...

[Game Closed] Dead of Winter: DnD3e-CoC Game in the Forgotten Realms (IC Forum)

Actually, I believe that in FR automatic languages is defined by character regions. In this case, Yanis only knows the automatic language, which in his case is Damaran. As far as I know, there is no Common in FR.

    The IR Aftermath Campaign Characters

The half-dragon template usually costs 10 levels in a prestige class (i.e., dragon disciple). It sure seems cheap in this game though.

Arana whispers back to the others, "Looks like we have company. Stay quiet everyone." She proceeds to move forward, crouching and against the left side of the corridor, hoping for whatever little cover its jagged surface might provide.

Arana listens and moves out... Arana concentrates her keen elven senses to discern the nature of the "clank". (Listen check: 27 = 18 + 4 (ranks) + 2 (elven bonus) + 2 (alertness) + 1 (wisdom).) Unless, it's something obviously dangerous, she then proceeds to crawl as silently as she can...

Joining the group... If possible, I would also like to join the group. My preliminary concept is an accused outlaw hiding in the wilderness, but also seeking to clear his name.

"Looks like no one went this way either. But I guess we can try this direction. But I suggest the gnome lead us." Arana moves towards Rallyn, places her hands on his shoulders and proceeds to drive the gnome toward the entrance to the east. If Rallyn does not object strongly, she'll continue...

    Academy of Drell, Part III

Arana steps up to the east-side entrance and examines the connecting passageway. Is there any evidence of a trail left by the three men? Search roll: 10 + 2 (int) = 12

OOC: Let me try and understand the description.... The red stone ring is floating off the ground at about one foot, apparently unattached? Or is it a low stone wall about one foot high? Or is it somehow attached to the walls of the hexagonal room? Is there room to scoot around the ring or is...

    Academy of Drell, Part III

Northward bound... Arana--never one to follow orders or discipline--heads down the passageway going north. "It seems fine in here. Hurry up, guys." Fian would have liked more pampering; but seeing that curiosity has been stirred in Arana, she realizes that it's best to just follow her...

Arana's vote "Thank you, Victor. Is that better, Fian? Baby, I know you don't like to get wet, I'm sorry." She produces a small treat for her feline companion from her backpack and then proceeds to scratch her behind her ears. A soft purr emanates from Fian. After a little while, Arana...

    The IR Aftermath Campaign Characters

It might be just my opinion, but evil is never forced to do anything. Evil does not mean uncontrollable, mindless slaughter. Rather, it means choosing the benefit of the self even at a cost to others. If you've ever taken an alignment quiz for a character of yours, you'll find the selfish...

    The IR Aftermath Campaign Characters

Re: Its all very nice but.......... It's become painfully obvious that most of the characters here are intent on being evil (especially those who casually include the Shadow Adept prestige class). I suspect that high level campaigns tend to attract individuals bent on evil to play in them...

Backtracking a bit… Arana looks back at Fian. “Oh, come on. You know it won’t hurt. It’s just a little water.” No. Fian starts to walk away. “But I need you. It would be fun. Adventurous. Aren’t you a bit curious?” Not about the water. No. “I’ll buy you that down pillow you wanted...
