Merric's thoughts on "Against the Giants" (DDM)

Am I the only one disappointed to find NO minis in this set that are Homage minis to the 'Against the Giants' classic module. I had been looking forward to this set assuming that there would be some such goodies. What does the title 'Against the Giants' have to do with any of these minis, for...

    Dragon/Dungeon PDFs

Thanks, already downloaded those. It is correct that WotC has promised single PDF downloads for each issue, yes? Or is this a service that will only be done when Dragon/Dungeon are integrated into D&DI Insider?

    Dragon/Dungeon PDFs

Are there PDF downloads for the whole issues (i.e. Dragon 361 all in one PDF) available for Dragon 361-66 and Dungeon 151-156? I was looking at the website adn I can only find Dragon 360. Is this only available for a fee at this point?

I just bought the Starcraft boardgame, though haven't been able to try it yet. I also recently picked up lost cities. Sadly, I also haven 't played it yet.

3 favorite sites from classic adventures?

Three favorite D&D locations! Well,, As mentioned earlier, classics like the KotB / Caves of Chaos, the Drow City Erelhei Cinlu (Heck, that whole Underworld setting from D1-3 wasfull of stuff to explore), and the Isle of Dread. I'd ad B4 The Lost city. Plus I've got fond memories of...

    I Still Miss, Mortality Radio

YESSSSSSSSSS! Mortality Radio is the Granddaddy of all RPG Podcasts. More than any other podcast, these guys sounded like they were broadcasting from their gaming table. I listened to it live from Russia a few times and I remember waking up at around 4 am to do it. I still check the MR...

    Basic D&D Companion Set

The rules for dominions in the D&D Companion set (also in the Rules Cyclopedia) were only 7 pages long, so don't expect too much depth. In my and other people's opinion however, (I think), these rules are among the best ever written for D&D on this subject. There have been a few attempts to...

Board games you own and would recommend

Surprised Battlelore! hasn't been mentioned before now. Love this game. I own the game and all the expansions but unfortunately the expansions have dried up lately. I like Descent but it's replayablity to me seems a bit weak, it seemed to get repetitive, though it might be worth trying the...

    Historical-based 4e games

What is the future of d20 Modern in the 4e era? Has WotC given word about that?

What are people doing with their 3.x colletions?

Well, I've officially switched to 4e. I have the three corebooks and am reading them. My group plans to start a 4e campaign this fall, and we're off for the summer. Given my limited game time at the moment, and the likely hood I"ll only be in one campaign at a time, it seems that at least...

What Classes Existed in Earlier Editions?

I found a useful post here if you want more complete info on OD&D or Mystara classes. There certainly were a lot of them by the time OD&D completed its run.

What Classes Existed in Earlier Editions?

Two from Basic D&D I almost forgot were the Forester class and the Rake, both from the Dawn of Emperors boxed set. The forester was a Fighter-Mage varient (I remember it being basically a human version of the Elf class) and the Rake (remember little about it, like a Thief).

What Classes Existed in Earlier Editions?

ONe category of class not mentioned so far are the additional classes from the Gazatteer series for Basic/Expert etc D&D. From memory, they the following: Ylarum: Dervish (Druid variant), Rockhome: Dwarf-Cleric The Five Shires: Master (Keeper of the Flame?) Minrothad Guilds: Merchant-Prince...

Hello after a while and a little announcment

I haven't posted here for a long while so I hope there are people here who still remember me. Last fall, my wife and I were blessed with good news that unfortunately greatly reduced my posting (and my gaming), which was already down to a pittance due to life issues. We found out that after...

    D&D 4E 4e price increase?

I don't know much about publishing or book distribution but I find it very difficult to believe that WotC's RPG pricing outside the us is purely 'greed' or a 'complete lack to care'. Does WotC even decide on what price they use outside the US? Even if the answer is yes, is their policy out of...
