I agree with aura seer, and I'd say that if you applied your dodge bonus to the giant, then it'd get you a net bonus of +5 (+4 for normal, +1 for dodge). Against anything medium or smaller, your dodge grants +1 as normal, and against anyone large or larger, it grants you the +4 bonus.

Yes, it'd be very hard for such a monkey to get the item off the person. Such is the sad case of interesting moves in DND, most of them are too hard. then again, if they were at all easy, we'd all have characters with 5 trained monkeys to take all the items off our enemies :D .

well, it seems to check out in the DM's guide. I realize they're guidelines, but I'm wondering people's thoughts on an item like this, and whether it actually does check out based on DM's guide. Thanks for moving it, I lose track of which one I'm in. :heh:

Alright, my player is telling me that he can make a command word magic-missle (9th level caster at will) firing machine somewhere in the neighborhood of 18k gp. Is it really not overpowered and am I overreacting, or is that just a tad cheap?

palemaster is just for straight wizards, giving up some spells for some interesting abillities (better summoning, grafted arm, armor, etc.) the TN is a multiclassing Wiz/Cleric that's very good at raising people. It gets some abilities (such as horrid wilting) either a level behind or the same...

I'm gonna have to side with all the other guys, it's like a wall of stone but it can't be touched by almost anything. As for turning, I always assumed it was sort of a fear that only undead can feel, but it does say it's a channeling of positive energy, so I guess the wall of force would stop it.

As other people said, he is on par when you factor in coolness and things like grappling, just not in beating people with a greataxe.

what happened to jeremy's sultans of smack? The hulking hurler requires you to have really really big things to hurl, but in the right game those can always be there, and I'd say 4562 average damage or whatever it was is at least...20x better than 3.0 harm, except for that plethora of monsters...

Sounds good to me. Another balancing factor with dodge is that it isn't the prerequisite for some great feats.

My players really like this one... then again, getting a higher level wizard to come into a dungeon may cost you a pretty penny.
