    When death becomes him.......

nono I'm not familliar with Rokugan so I just thought so, no offense intended. But looking at my D&D game, where death is not uncommon, I can't imagine starting a new character just like that. Grz

    When death becomes him.......

For the record: Indeed I am looking this from the D&D point of view and not from the Rokugan point of view. In Rokugan it's probably a lot more uncommon for a character to die.

    When death becomes him.......

So imagine you've been building you character form scratch, you've been playing him for the last few months and he reached lvl 15 not long ago. You trigger a trap; disintegrate;youy fail the fortitude save and...... BANG......he's gone. Your D20 just stopped rolling and you're still looking at...

    When death becomes him.......

I was wondering what rule you use when a character dies. Our group has ruled that the official rule of WotC is somewhat harse. f.e. if a character has 135.000 XP and is 1.000 Xp form lvl up, and he dies Using the official rule he goes down a lvl and now has 112.500 XP. That would mean a loss of...

    Shield bonus

+5 (and +4 for that manner) is waaaaay too much of an AC bonus. I agree with IceBear; low lvl battles will cost waaaay too much time. And at high lvl, think of a shield +3 that would cost 9K and gives an AC bonus equal to a full plate armor...... I'm gonna stay with the +2 AC for a large steel...

    Favorite Rogue/Bard sourcebook?

Song and Silence I would personally recommend Song and Silence, especialy for new players or players who never played a rogue before. Shield Spell Questions (again)??

just wondering Yeah but what about those fighter based classes who can cast shieldspell. (f.e. bladesinger, or any other melee based class for that matter). Then the use of the shield spell gets a whole other meaning, because a character who fights in melee now gets a huge AC boost. Do you...
