Living in apple country now I can certainly appreciate good, fresh specialty orchard apples. Red Delicious are the candy corn / Necco wafer of apples. Though I still wouldn't want an apple in my trick or treat sack.

I've been re-reading Pournelle & Niven's The Mote in God's Eye and it would make a great mini-series now that the technology it up to it. As would the Ringworld series.
