D&D in another genre would be named ...

So if D&D were in another genre but followed the same basic naming convention (i.e. Noun & Noun, where the nouns are alliterative), what are the most clever options you can come up with? Not-original examples: The modern office: Papers & Paychecks Weird West: Sixguns & Sorcery Original...

Wheel of Time Discussion - Spoilers(with book spoilers)

Oh but think of the lost opportunities for skirt smoothing, braid tugging, and sniffing contemptuously!

Give it time; we don't have a critical mass of Aes Sedai yet.

D&D General Most pulpy Sword & Sorcery adventures?

I think along with Dwellers of the Forbidden City that Against the Cult of the Reptile God is the most REH title in D&D I can think of! Cults, Reptile Gods, and of course the heroes are always Against something -- darkness, deviltry, wizardry, the list goes on! I love those two modules. Pretty...

AD&D 1E Forgotten Realms in AD&D 1st Edition a better setting for adventures?

I prefer the Grey Box for FR campaigns -- less lived in, no timeline advancement, not Realms-shaking events. Just a nice sandbox for adventure.

Wheel of Time Discussion - Spoilers(with book spoilers)

Dunno ... I've been assuming it's the weaves and we can't tell what elements they are yet (some color-coding for air, water, etc would be nice). Maybe we'll learn more as the female characters get to Tar Valon and become novices.

Wheel of Time Discussion - Spoilers(with book spoilers)

One of the characters in Ep 4 makes a comment about not being able to see the other gender's weaves. Nyah, Shaitan, it was I, the Dragon, all along!

Wheel of Time Discussion - Spoilers(with book spoilers)

Good episode. Took a lot of key information and put it together in a scene that doesn't happen in the books, but left the series stronger for it. Hope they keep this up.

D&D General Most pulpy Sword & Sorcery adventures?

D&D has a lot of influences and has had many different styles of adventures released over its many editions. One of its key influences is pulp Sword & Sorcery -- Howard's Conan, Leiber's Fafhrd & Grey Mouser, and the like. So what do you think are the "most pulpy" or best Sword & Sorcery style...

Wheel of Time Discussion - Spoilers(with book spoilers)

That's certainly something I'm looking forward to with the TV series -- some solid editing and streamlining (to be fair, ASOIAF really needs this in spades, especially post-ASOS). I stalled out and crashed on the books about book 7 when long stretches of nothing happening but skirt smoothing...

Wheel of Time Discussion - Spoilers(with book spoilers)

We finished Ep 3 today. It definitely improved from the first episode, and we can see the characters and plot developing. Even though my wife and I both finished the entire series, she doesn't remember most of the plot points or back story from the first book, so I'm answering a lot of "what is...

    Cheese Sammiches

Grilled or toasted? (is there a difference?) What kind of cheese? What's your special recipe? I've been doing grilled, thick wheat with butter on the outside, Colby Jack melted on the inside. But I'm looking to expand my horizons.

I saw a Ghostbuster and it was good (spoilers)

I wish they'd tell you at the start of the credits that there are scenes coming up. Sounds like a fun movie, even with extreme fan service!

Wheel of Time Discussion - Spoilers(with book spoilers)

We just started watching. My spouse is struggling with it a bit -- very dark in the nighttime scenes, and the sound balance feels a bit off. She is having a hard time understanding the dialogue (part volume related to background music, part accents) so I'm having to repeat a lot of dialog.

Wheel of Time Series on Amazon (spoilers)

Yes, though I recommend skipping say books 7-9 or so 'cause they get really slow. Nynaeve sniffs, taps her foot, looks down her nose Brandon Sanderson did a great job IMO wrapping up the series pretty quickly in novels 11-13. He was a great selection to close the series.

The Best Thing About HeroQuest ...

... is getting your Mythic pledge! I never played HQ back in the day -- came out after I was beyond "that age" and had been playing "serious" RPGs for many years. But when the re-release was announced I figured I'd get in -- looked like a fun gateway game plus it would provide some entertaining...

D&D General New Summary and Release Date for 'Dragons of Deceit'

Please no time travel.. It seems like every series that resorts to that has jumped the shark into hacksville. And yes I'm aware that particular species has been jumped in this series already.

    Game Wizards: An In-Depth Review

Fascinating. I'll have to pick this up. I have an OD&D rule book signed by Arneson ... but Gary died before I could get his signature as well.
