    D&D 4E 4e ask a simple question, get a simple answer

Awesome advice so far. Didn't notice Howl of Doom at all. ESA and Fey Step is nice, but the only other striker is a ranged Rogue (there is a Brawler fighter, in terms of someone having a reasonable MBA). And the controller is a Cunning Bard. I figured a bit more damage wouldn't go amiss on a...

Eternal Defender, though it's not completely clear to me if it stacks. And no- Brutal only applies to weapon damage dice, so [W]s only (that does include high crit dice, incidentally, but not the usual dice from a magic weapon on a crit).

Putting together an Eladrin Swordmage|Warlock for a limited adventure- starting (and probably ending) at level 13, probably with no extended rests, about 4 sessions or so. Here's the question: 10/17/10/15+2/8/13+2 starting array (11/20/11/20/9/16 now), Star and Infernal as pacts, with...

FWIW, Zathris is slightly off on Supernal- Supernal can be spoken so that anyone understands it by immortals, but that doesn't mean they can understand everyone. But yes, Devas who speak Supernal can make everyone understand, even if they can't get all the responses.

Question about a specific use of Readied Action

As you've noted, it basically functions as an Immediate Reaction. The rules are slightly ambiguous as far as "targeted" goes, but in general, I'd say that the attack has to be finished, presuming that target/attack roll/damage are all part of the same thing (note that the RC is explicit in...

    D&D 4E 4e ask a simple question, get a simple answer

On a Carnage Weapon ("When you roll the maximum result on at least one of this weapon’s damage dice, the target takes extra damage equal to twice the weapon’s enhancement bonus.")- what counts as a damage die? Are we only talking [W]s here, or do things like the extra dice from a critical hit...

Alternative access for WotC forums material

As a note/head's up, folks should be aware that the Wayback machine has a number of archived spots for the D&D boards. The most recent one on Charop was done here. If you go to the top and navigate through the captures, there are some older ones with material lost during the last forum...

When Everyone is Super: a Miniguide to Classless Damage Boosts by Svenj

Glad to see someone brought this over- it's an important one. Also, I'll note that given Svenj's criteria, Ghost of the Past should probably be listed under Crit boosting. It was published after the last post in the original thread, though the thread was pretty late in terms of 4e material...

Headspin (Human Invoker|Cleric/Divine Oracle/Destined Scion) by Cazzeo

Comments summary: Not all of the items are correct- in particular, Cazzeo later noted that you can't have two holy symbols, so once it gets the Unforgettable Cudgel, any notations of holy symbols should be ignored. The build can't use Zephyr Boots, since it's in heavy armor (but could use...

    D&D 4E 4e ask a simple question, get a simple answer

Broom of Flying: How does one get on/off? It's not technically a mount or vehicle, but it seems weird to say that it can be ridden without taking an action.

Illusion of Hope: An Orbizard|Invoker build

I know this was mentioned on the thread on the WotC forums, but hybrid Invoker doesn't get the riders, correct? How does that affect the effectiveness of the build?
